  • Publication number: 20240070722
Abstract: Systems and methods for targeted advertising to specific consumers are disclosed. A system may include a memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: receive, over a network, consumer data from a client device; identify a plurality of client-provided consumers from the consumer data; obtain a plurality of unique consumer identifiers corresponding to the plurality of client-provided consumers; and identify at least one first overlapping unique consumer identifier by matching at least one of the plurality of client-provided consumers with at least one publisher-provided consumer provided by a first publisher device of a plurality of publisher devices, the first publisher device having a highest priority among the plurality of publisher devices.

  • Patent number: 8468571
Abstract: A method and system for enabling trick plays during a variable bit rate (VBR) playback of a media file transmitted to a user media device as a constant bit rate (CBR) flow includes determining a plurality of access points within the media file. The media file is configured to be played back from each of the plurality of access points. A minimum buffer value is calculated for each of the plurality of access points. The minimum buffer value identifies a minimum amount of the media file to transmit to the user media device before beginning playback of the media file from each of the plurality of access points to substantially ensure that the media file is configured to be played back from each of the plurality of access points continuously and uninterruptedly at a variable bit rate.

Date of Patent: June 18, 2013
    Assignee: General Instrument Corporation

  • Publication number: 20070219365
Abstract: The present invention discloses nucleic acid enzymes and deoxyribonucleic acid enzymes capable of cleaving nucleic acid sequences or molecules, particularly RNA, in a site-specific manner, as well as compositions including same. Methods of making and using the disclosed enzymes and compositions are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070147542
Abstract: Method and apparatus for encoding a protocol data unit (PDU) stream is described. In one example, packets of the PDU stream are outer coded to produce a symbol stream. The symbol stream is formatting to produce trellis groups. The trellis groups are formed into blocks of M×N groups. For each of the blocks, M groups are processed using N trellis encoders to produce N trellis encoder outputs. Each of the N trellis encoder outputs is mapped onto a quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) constellation to generate N QAM symbol streams. In another example, a single shared trellis encoder is used and channel bond grouping is performed on the encoded QAM symbols.

  • Publication number: 20070143654
Abstract: Method and apparatus for using long FEC codes in a content distribution system is described. One aspect of the invention relates to encoding frames of content. Each frame is partitioned into un-coded bits and bits to be encoded. For each frame, an FEC code is applied to the bits to be encoded to generate a codeword. Groups of bits from the codeword are divided among a plurality of channels. Symbols formed from the groups of bits and the un-coded bits are mapped to a constellation for each of the plurality of channels. The symbols are modulated across a respective plurality of bonded channels for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20060036568
Abstract: A file system shell is provided. One aspect of the shell provides virtual folders which expose regular files and folders to users in different views based on their metadata instead of the actual physical underlying file system structure on the disk. Users are able to work with the virtual folders through direct manipulation (e.g., clicking and dragging, copying, pasting, etc.). Filters are provided for narrowing down sets of items. Quick links are provided which can be clicked on to generate useful views of the sets of items. Libraries are provided which consist of large groups of usable types of items that can be associated together, along with functions and tools related to the items. A virtual address bar is provided which comprises a plurality of segments, each segment corresponding to a filter for selecting content. A shell browser is provided with which users can readily identify an item based on the metadata associated with that item.
