  • Patent number: 5893994
Abstract: An improved heat tunnel is provided for use with a thermo-forming press. The heat tunnel includes a first oven body having a heat source therein for applying heat to a web of thermo-formable material as the web is supported therein. The tunnel includes a second oven body having a heat source therein for applying heat to a web of thermo-formable material as the web is supported therein. Furthermore, the tunnel has an adjustable length tunnel body carried between the first and second oven bodies and configurable to adjust the overall length of the heat tunnel so as to realize a desired delivery of heat to a web of material being passed there through.

  • Patent number: 5836527
Abstract: A solid waste comminuting apparatus (10) for reducing solid waste material (12). The apparatus (10) has rolls (42, 44) for severing material that is fed into the entrance (32). After the material is severed, it is carried by an airstream to a fan (112). The subdivided pieces are directed to a separator screen (131) mounted within the centrifugal housing. The airstream carries the small pieces (14e) through the separator screen (131) into an outer volute chamber (135) for discharge from the apparatus. The large pieces (14a-14d) which do not pass through the separator screen (131) are recycled through a recycle outlet (143) and a recycle conduit (150) back to the rolls (42, 44) for further size reduction.

  • Patent number: 5773540
Abstract: An improved mold assembly is provided for use in a thermo-forming press having a first and a second platen movably engageable there between. A first die member of the assembly is configured to be carried by the first platen. A second die member is configured to be carried by the second platen, and is constructed and arranged to mate in assembly with the first die member. Aa resilient member is disposed between one of the die members and an associated one of the platens. The compliant member is constructed and arranged to provide compliant engagement between the first and second die as first and second platens on which they are mounted, respectively, are engaged together to form a web of plastic material there between during a thermo-forming cycle.
