  • Patent number: 5429473
Abstract: A mechanism for removing double parts from the last machining stage of a press includes telescopically slidable pipes. In order to house the supporting elements of a supporting device, which are used for the support of sheet metal parts in areas situated away from the gripper rails and in the center with respect to the gripper rails, the telescopically slidable pipes are connected between the gripper rails. The pipes extend in the direction of the opening and closing movement of the gripper rails and, in the area situated in the center with respect to the gripper rails carry a bushing. The center position of the bushing is caused by stand-side guiding devices. The bushing is provided with the supporting elements which in the last machining stage of the press support the separated sheet metal parts.

  • Patent number: 4881398
Abstract: During a tool change, the template is to be moved dimensionally accurately into the idling stage of a transfer press and out of the same on support elements at the sliding table in the tool space of the transfer press. This requires a dimensionally accurate coupling. A gripping and holding device is provided in the idling stage for the insertion and retraction of a mounting bolt into a, respectively, out of a mounting bushing. The mounting bushing is thereby rotatably supported at the template and forms, on the one hand, a first bayonet-like connection by means of the mounting bolt, a guide groove machined into the same and a cylindrical pin engaging into this guide groove and, on the other, a second bayonet-like connection by means of a retaining plate, a cylindrical pin provided in the same and a mounting groove machined into the mounting bushing. These connections operate one after the other by rotation of the mounting bolt by means of an adjusting means.

  • Patent number: 4823587
Abstract: For coupling and decoupling gripper rail parts in a transfer press, clamping means with a clamping bolt movable in its axial direction and rotatable about the same are arranged in the end parts. The clamping bolt engages with a clamping anchor behind a clamping surface in the end part to be coupled. Centering means for the mutual alignment of the gripper rail parts and of coupling device for the lines taken along at the gripper rail parts are movable along with the clamping bolt. The closing of the coupling devices in the line leading to the clamping means takes place sequentially. The movements of the clamping bolts after the closing of the coupling devices can take place at the same time.

  • Patent number: 4730825
Abstract: An installation for feeding sheet-metal blanks to a first working stage of a multi-stage press, in which the blanks fed individually by way of a suspension conveyor into the area of an intermediate deposit station are to be transferred to active gripping devices attached at the transfer rails. For avoiding standstill periods of the transfer rails during the closing of the active gripping devices, the blank is lifted during the lifting of the transfer rail synchronously therewith. A carriage adapted to be lifted and lowered serves for that purpose which is synchronized by way of a crank drive at least in the lifting phase of the transfer rails with the lifting-lowering drive of the transfer rails.

  • Patent number: 4627528
Abstract: For the conveying of work pieces from one treatment step to the next and for release after the treatment, gripping devices are arranged at gripper rails that can be lifted and lowered wherein the lowest and the highest position of the gripper rails can be adjusted via a pulley that can be placed against cam parts carried along by the slide of the press, via a step-up gear and a lever system. The change of the gripping devices is to be carried out together with the tool change. For this purpose, the gripper rails are led into the lowest position, which position can be adjusted via a regulating means independently from the position of the slide.

  • Patent number: 4557133
Abstract: A press unit having gripper rails to be exchanged at the same time as the tools, wherein in hollow spaces of the ends of the gripper rails, means are inserted for the locking of the form-fitting or toothed connection of gripper rails on the side of the press and gripper rails on the side of the tool that are to be connected with one another for the transfer of workpieces. The device comprises a control element, a pressing rod that can be acted upon by the control element, and a locking member connected to said pressing rod, with said locking member being slidable in a preferably press side end of the gripper rails and a mating piece for receiving the locking member during the form-locking or toothed connection of the ends of the gripper rails and being slidable in an end at the side of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4192169
Abstract: An apparatus for driving a pair of gripper bars of a multi-stage press in a longitudinal direction of the press which includes a pair of driven levers disposed symmetrically to a longitudinal center plane of the press, which levers are engageable with a slide guide extending at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the press. At least one feed cross member is operatively connected to the pair of gripper bars and also to the slide guide associated with the pair of driven levers. Two toothings are provided which are disposed symmetrically to the longitudinal center plane and are conjointly reciprocatingly driven between two end positions. Each toothing meshes with a pinion mounted for rotation and fastened to the frame with the pinions having a rotational path between the two end positions of the toothing which amounts to 180.degree.. Each pinion is also rotationally fixed to one of the pair of driven levers.
