  • Patent number: 4370154
Abstract: A unit for diversion of a gas which may be hot, dust-laden, saturated with water vapor and containing water droplets, e.g.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 1980
Date of Patent: January 25, 1983
    Assignees: Creusot-Loire Entreprises, Usinor
    Inventors: Gerald Namy, Jean Cordier
  • Patent number: 4367095
Abstract: A process and apparatus for manufacturing cement clinker in which pellets of raw material containing the necessary components for manufacturing the clinker are introduced into an apparatus where the pellets flow under gravity, successively through a preheating zone, a clinkering zone using a fluidized bed and a cooling zone. The pellets contain an amount of comminuted carbon determined so that its combustion produces an amount of heat within each pellet sufficient to carry out decarbonation of the material, taking into account the heat introduced by the hot gases passing upwardly through the apparatus. Decarbonation is completed at the base of the preheating zone and the pellets enter the clinkering zone at a temperature which is close to the clinkering temperature. Additional heat is supplied through burners within the clinkering zone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 21, 1981
Date of Patent: January 4, 1983
    Assignees: Creusot-Loire Entreprises, Lafarge S.A.

  • Patent number: 4157249
Abstract: A suction device for the wet extraction of dust from dust laden gas comprises a centrifugal rotor housed in a casing and rotatable about an axis, and means for projecting a wetting liquid into the rotor adjacent the gas inlet thereto, the rotor being provided with at least two sets of blades, the blades of each set being uniformly arranged in a crown and forming channels with at least one of the sidechecks of the rotor in which gas flows from the center towards the periphery, the leading and trailing edges respectively of the blades of the first set being located closer to the axis of the runner than the leading and trailing edges respectively of the blades of the second set, the leading edges of the blades of the first set being located near to but angularly spaced from the trailing edges of the blades of the second set.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 20, 1978
Date of Patent: June 5, 1979
    Assignee: Creusot-Loire Enterprises

  • Patent number: 4052196
Abstract: A method and apparatus for moistening the charge material of an ore-dressing plant with an iron oxide containing dust-water dispersion comprising the thickening of the dispersion into a mud, a pumping of the mud from the thickener to a mixing device where the mud is mixed with the charge material, and controlling the amount of mud dependent upon the water requirements of the ore-dressing plant by varying the amount of mud conveyed. In case of a mud blockage of the system, means are provided for flushing the system out with rinsing water.
