Publication number: 20210045371Abstract: An improved mechanical lure with articulated legs preferably includes a housing, a gearbox, a pair of legs, a plastic sealing film, a gearbox case and at least one hook. The housing preferably includes an upper housing member and a lower housing member. The gearbox includes a gearbox unit, a winding reel and a pulling line. The winding reel with the pulling line and an offset drive shaft extend from the gearbox unit. The gearbox unit is filled with a lubricant. The plastic sealing film is applied to the gearbox unit to cover a plurality of holes including a lubricant injection opening. The gearbox case includes an upper case member and a lower case member. The gearbox case is sized to receive the plastic film wrapped gearbox unit. The pair of legs include first and second leg drive members. The first and second leg drive members are driven by the offset drive shaft. The appendage(s) of the mechanical lure is comprised of thermoplastic for increased buoyancy.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2020Publication date: February 18, 2021Inventor: Frank Gerald Pearce

Patent number: 8789249Abstract: A shoe comprising a shoe upper including a male member and a shoe sole including a female receptor for locking with the male member. The male member locks with the female receptor by moving the male member with respect to the female receptor in a first direction, which locks the shoe upper with the shoe sole. The male member unlocks from the female receptor by moving the male member an additional distance further in the first direction, which unlocks the shoe upper from the shoe sole. The female receptor includes resilient arms to hold and release the male member and a stop to prevent movement of the resilient arms in a second direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2011Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Assignee: Convertible Shoe, LLCInventor: Frank Gerald Pearce

Patent number: 7318260Abstract: A novel quick release locking mechanism is disclosed. The locking mechanism is comprised of a male latch member and a female receptacle. The male latch member is comprised of an arbor with a planar handle at its proximal end and a catch apparatus at its distal end. The arbor is further equipped with a slidable annulus that moves between the lower margin of the planar handle and the catch apparatus. The female receptacle is comprised of a housing and a duality of notched resilient arms. Operation of the locking mechanism is achieved by introduction of the male latch member into the female receptacle with sufficient force to urge open the resilient arms which then springably close around the catch means, thus locking the mechanism. The female receptacle is further supplied with appropriate stops to prevent separation forces from inducing upward travel of the resilient arms during use, thus increasing lock strength and durability.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2005Date of Patent: January 15, 2008Assignee: Convertible Shoe, LLCInventor: Frank Gerald Pearce

Patent number: 6622419Abstract: A fishing lure for game fish angling has a body structure with hooks attached thereto. The lure contains a gear box with a coil spring for storing the energy of an angler's arm motion during the lure retrieve, and a gear train for transferring the stored energy to an external appendage. A metal shaft extends through the gear box and is attached to a spool and line arrangement for winding the coil spring. The lure can be repeatedly and selectively activated by the angler to impart a sustained oscillating motion to the external appendage. A rustproof metal cam pin and a resin impregnated low stretch line provide improved durability. The lure may be fitted with a translucent concave mouth to resist forward movement while providing the necessary water resistance to wind the coil spring.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2001Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Inventor: Frank Gerald Pearce
