    Abstract: A method for streaming a viscous material onto an electronic substrate using a dispensing system having a dispenser includes positioning a nozzle of the dispenser at a nominal clearance height above the substrate, dispensing a continuous stream of viscous material from the nozzle to dispense an amount of material on the substrate, controlling the volumetric flow rate of the viscous material being dispensed by the dispenser, moving the nozzle over areas of the substrate requiring viscous material, and terminating the continuous stream of viscous material. A dispensing system for performing methods of streaming viscous material is further disclosed.

    Abstract: An apparatus and methods for depositing material on a surface of an electronic substrate are provided and include a squeegee device or system for distributing material to be deposited on the electronic substrate. The squeegee device or system can include a first wiping blade and a second wiping blade spaced from and parallel to the first wiping blade. The first wiping blade and the second wiping blade are disposed at an angle relative to a vertical axis, the vertical axis being perpendicular to a surface of an electronic substrate, such that when the first and the second wiping blades contact a surface of a stencil to deposit or print the material onto the electronic substrate, the first and the second wiping blades contact the stencil surface at a rake angle relative to a direction in which the squeegee device traverses the stencil surface.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for depositing material on a surface of an electronic substrate includes a frame, a substrate support coupled to the frame to support the electronic substrate, a stencil coupled to the frame having at least one aperture to receive a material to be deposited through the aperture onto the surface of the electronic substrate, a controller that controls dispensing of material on the substrates, and a vibration system, coupled to one of the stencil, the frame and the substrate support, and coupled to the controller, that introduces a vibration to the stencil, wherein the vibration has a frequency controlled by the controller based on characteristics of at least one of the material, the stencil and the electronic substrate. Release of material from the apertures is accomplished while the vibration is applied to the stencil.

    Abstract: Continuous jetting of liquid metal droplets for deposit on a substrate includes an ejector, a deflection device, a print chute, and a collection reservoir. Liquid metal from a cartridge in the ejector provides a continuous molten material stream through an orifice-defining structure while a vibration device creates a standing wave in the stream to break the molten material stream into individual droplets which receive charge from a charging device. The deflection device enables the positioning of the charged droplets to be controlled for placement on a substrate. Control systems assist in the calibration and control of the continuous stream to ensure that selected droplets are placed at desired locations on the substrate.
