  • Patent number: 4174301
Abstract: Silica-alumina powders can be extruded into catalyst supports having improved properties by the addition of up to 15% by weight of a polycarboxylic acid, containing 2-10 carbon atoms, based on the dry weight of the powder to the silica-alumina powders prior to extrusion. The addition of the polycarboxylic acid also increases the extrusion rate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 1978
Date of Patent: November 13, 1979
    Assignee: Nalco Chemical Company
Inventors: Monica E. Choca, Gerald R. Feistel
  • Patent number: 4132669
Abstract: Alumina-phosphorous powders can be extruded into catalysts supports having improved properties by the addition of up to 15% by weight of a polycarboxylic acid, containing 2-10 carbon atoms, based on the dry weight of the alumina-phosphorous powder prior to extrusion. The addition of the polycarboxylic acid also increases the extrusion rate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 1977
Date of Patent: January 2, 1979
    Assignee: Nalco Chemical Company
Inventors: Monica E. Choca, Gerald R. Feistel
  • Patent number: 4111843
Abstract: Porous silica particles useful in catalysis are prepared by adding excess alkali to a body of water glass; the excess alkali is responsible for increasing the pore diameter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 1977
Date of Patent: September 5, 1978
    Assignee: Nalco Chemical Company
Inventors: Gerald R. Feistel, George N. Pessimisis
  • Patent number: 4039474
Abstract: Porous silica-alumina products useful in catalysis are prepared by adding excess alkali to a body of water glass, the excess alkali is responsible for rendering the product extrudable and for increasing the pore diameter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 20, 1975
Date of Patent: August 2, 1977
    Assignee: Nalco Chemical Company
Inventors: Gerald R. Feistel, George N. Pessimisis
