  • Patent number: 7451876
Abstract: A medication carrier for administering individual doses of therapeutic products to a patient, in a non-sequential fashion. The medication carrier comprises a receptacle which stores individually sealed, unit dose packages in random order, allowing each unit dose package to be easily accessed and released in response to automated or manual extraction. The medication carrier includes an array of stalls and retaining means for securing the sealed unit dose packages within the stalls until a scheduled dosing time. The unit dose packages are oriented such that identifiers imprinted thereon can be easily read without removing the packages from the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5146713
Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for opening, closing, and sealing the door of a sterilizer. The apparatus includes a clamping device for compressing a compressible gasket between the door and the chamber of the sterilizer, and the clamping device can provide variable clamping pressure. Further, the clamping device is self-locking and once in a clamped position it requires the positive application of hydraulic pressure to move it to an unclamped state. The apparatus also includes hydraulic mechanisms for opening and closing the door and raising and lowering the door against the face of the sterilizer. Each of these hydraulic mechanisms may be adjusted to vary the amount of force used to open and close the door or to raise and lower the door. In addition, the hydraulic mechanisms used for clamping the door, opening and closing the door, or raising and lowering the door are adapted so that they can be operated during a loss of electrical power.

  • Patent number: 4733050
Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining the weld tip and gas nozzle of a robotic welding apparatus is provided. The present invention includes a plurality of functional stations at which various operations may be performed on the gas nozzle and/or welding tip. In the first station, the gas nozzle is removed from the welding arm and the interior surface of the gas nozzle is cleaned by means of a rotating brush. In the second station of the present apparatus, a cutter slide serves to pin and shear the weld wire from the weld tip. The third station of the instant apparatus includes a grinding belt which serves to grind the leading face of the weld tip. Following the grinding operations of station three, the welding arm may be returned to station one for the reapplication of the gas nozzle and then to station four for the pneumatic application of an anti-spatter compound.

  • Patent number: 4462508
Abstract: An apparatus for aligning and feeding the elongated objects comprising a vibrating bowl for receiving elongated objects, the bowl having a base portion, a side wall, and a ramp spiralling around the inner perimeter of the side wall such that the elongated objects are conveyed from the bottom end of the ramp adjacent the base portion along the upper surface of the ramp to the top end of the ramp, first and second sorting stations positioned along the ramp within the bowl for removing bent objects and limiting the number of elongated objects conveying along the ramp in side-by-side relationship and an escape chute for feeding the elongated objects sequentially from the top end of the ramp. The bent objects are removed and the number of objects passing along the ramp reduced by the first and second sorting station having narrowed ramp widths and associated inclines.
