  • Patent number: 10051558
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) transmits instructions to quiet a dynamic frequency selection (DFS) home channel for a period of time. Instructions can include a quiet information element (IE) or a clear-to-send to self (CTS2Self) frame. The AP then allocates a first dedicated RF chain to a first media access control (MAC) component and a second dedicated RF chain, separate from the first dedicated RF chain, to a second MAC component of the access point. The allocation can include reducing the number of RF chains dedicated to the first MAC component. During the time period determined by the instructions, the first dedicated RF chain scans the home DFS channel and the second dedicated RF chain scans at least one other channel (e.g., based at least in part on the time period and channel scan priority) in the same band as the DFS home channel.

  • Publication number: 20140320504
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus and computer readable memory for presenting an interactive virtual rendition of a historical person. The method includes compiling a pre-fetch database about the historical person comprising one or more writings, audio and video records of or about the historical person and presenting a multimedia virtual rendering of the historical person, the rendering comprising at least audio content and at least one of personal mannerisms and personality traits derived from the pre-fetch database as attributed to the historical person. In this embodiment the method also comprises in response to real-time inputs from interaction with the virtual rendering of the historical person, using at least the pre-fetch database to compile a reply to the real time inputs, the compiled reply comprising at least one of audio content and personal mannerisms that are selected and virtually rendered in dependence on the real-time inputs.

  • Publication number: 20140224797
Abstract: A removable cap assembly for a screw-top container includes a first portion, a second portion and a lower sealing member. The first portion is adapted to removably interface with a screw-top container. The second portion is adapted to removably interface with the first portion, and the second portion defines lateral sidewalls and a top surface. The lower sealing member is affixed to one of the first and second portions, and defines with the lateral sidewalls and the top surface an internal compartment. The other of the first and second portions, different from the one of the first and second portions to which the lower sealing member is affixed, comprises a cutting element arranged to breach the sealing member when the second portion is interfaced towards the first portion beyond a threshold point.

  • Publication number: 20140131302
Abstract: A removable cap assembly 100, 200, 300 includes a first portion 102, 302 defining a central axis 101 and configured to removably interface with a container opposite a mating surface 110 of the first portion; a second portion 122, 322, adjacent to the mating surface, and comprising lateral sidewalls 124 and a top surface 128; and a lower sealing member 142, 252 opposite the top surface that, with the lateral sidewalls 124 and the top surface, define a compartment 150 within the second portion. The removable cap assembly is arranged such that at least one component of the second portion is movable linearly with respect to the central axis so as to breach the internal compartment.
