  • Patent number: 4753255
Abstract: A basket for tumbling workpieces is positioned in a carrier. The carrier is rotatably mounted on a carrier rotation axis between two legs of a stage assembly and is rotated by a carrier rotation motor mounted on the stage assembly. A basket cover supported on the carrier is driven between open and closed position with respect to the carrier mounted basket by a container cover drive motor mounted on the stage assembly, a double-acting lead screw shaft rotatably supported in the carrier in parallel relation to the carrier rotation axis, a drive train between the lead screw shaft and the basket cover, and a drive train, including sprockets rotatable on the carrier rotation axis, between the cover drive motor and the lead screw shaft.

  • Patent number: 4576713
Abstract: A multiple deck screening machine wherein the feed material is divided into separate equal fractions on a rubble screen deck and scalp screen decks. Each deck includes downwardly slanting distribution panels having serrated lower edges. Particulate flow over the serrated edges is divided into separate fractions. Each adjacent fraction passes into a different parallel vertical channel which serves a particular screen deck via a chute. The chutes and channels extend the full width of the screens. Flow across the serrated edges is separated due to the notches and tongues and upstanding dividers along the common edge to each notch and tongues. Each notch and tooth of the rubble screen deck is disposed in juxtaposition to an opposed tongues and notch respectively so that excess flow over a tongues may pass over its channel into the channel of the opposed notch. The rubble screen deck including a pair of downwardly and inwardly inclined distribution panels which oppose each other and define a flow gap therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4083667
Abstract: Apparatus for extruding tubular plastic netting including concentric, counterrotatable inner and outer dies mounted in a housing with a space therein for the downward flow of molten plastic to a circular series of holes in each of the dies leading to their respective extrusion orifices, the apparatus having means for splitting the downward flow of plastic into two separate streams, one for the extrusion orifices of the inner die and the other for the extrusion orifices of the outer die, this means being formed substantially to equalize the rate of flow of the plastic to the extrusion orifices. The apparatus is also shown as including a seal arrangement in which a first and a second set of wedge seals protect bearings journalling one of the dies in the housing from the plastic, with the provision of a vent between the sets of seals so as to prevent application of pressure to the second set of seals in the vent the first set leaks.

  • Patent number: 4057449
Abstract: Methods of extruding tubular plastic netting from extrusion orifices in concentric, counterrotatable inner and outer dies in which the plastic filaments extruded therefrom have substantially the same downward relative velocity so as to form netting intersections with substantially no relative shear movement between intersecting filaments.
