  • Method and apparatus for configuring an integrated circuit

    Abstract: A configuration selection circuit for determining an operating characteristic of an integrated circuit by selecting a configuration option is disclosed. The configuration selection circuit includes an input, an output, a driver circuit, and a selector circuit. Selecting a configuration option is done by taking at least two samples of the voltage level on the input pin in order to construct an input configuration waveform. This input configuration waveform is compared to a plurality of predetermined configuration waveforms. If a match is made, the configuration option corresponding to the input configuration waveform is selected.
