  • Patent number: 4679982
Abstract: A ring or other annular assembly is supported within a compressor casing by means of one or more resiliently deformable bodies of elastomeric material adhered between two rigid plates. One of the rigid plates is secured to the ring, the other to the compressor casing, and both plates are disposed parallel to the direction of movement of the ring. Preferably, the resiliently deformable body is made up of an alternating stack of the elastomeric plates and rigid plates adhered together, and parallel with the first two rigid plates which secured the body to the ring and the casing. A compressor of a gas turbine plant incorporates an antisurge blow-off valve mechanism in the form of a slot formed in the outer wall defining the flow path and an annular assembly movable axially of the plant to close and open the slot.

  • Patent number: 4674951
Abstract: A ring of an annular valve assembly is movable in the direction of its longitudinal axis and is intended for an axial compressor blow-off arrangement. The ring takes the form of an axially orientated channel-section member having a first annular skin of concave section nested in a second annular skin also of concave section. A cavity filled with a synthetic resin filler is defined by the two skins. The blow-off arrangement for an axial-flow compressor of a turbo-jet engine, which incorporates this ring, comprises an annular opening with which the ring cooperates to re-form the wall of the air flow when the blow-off arrangement is inoperative.

  • Patent number: 4565492
Abstract: A sealing device is disclosed for maintaining a small positive clearance between packing segments and the turbine blade tips of a turbojet engine. The packing segments are connected to an inner ring which is, in turn, connected to an outer ring, all disposed within the turbojet casing. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the inner ring is greater than that of the outer ring such that, as air is directed onto the structure from the engine compressor, the differential expansion or contraction of the rings serves to move the packing segment in a radial direction to maintain the clearance between them and the turbine blade tips.

  • Patent number: 4546606
Abstract: The control device comprises at least one control ring to which one end of n elbow lever is articulated. The vane pivot of alternating vanes is fixed at the intersection of the arms of the elbow levers. The other end of each elbow lever is connected by a rod to the end of a straight lever, the other end of which is fixed to the pivot of an adjacent vane. The circumferential movement of the ring causes the pivots of the adjacent vanes to pivot in opposite directions. Two other embodiments have two rings.

  • Patent number: 4541567
Abstract: A vane for a convergent-divergent nozzle is constituted by a central body d a base plate. The central body comprises a reinforcement substantially in the shape of an isoceles triangle and of channel section, the reinforcement having internal and external edge flanges and a cover plate of the same shape and dimensions as the reinforcement, the reinforcement being secured to the flanges of the latter. The base plate is rectangular and has a triangular opening of a contour corresponding to that of the reinforcement. The central body is secured to the base plate by securing means constituted by a profiled member of a shape corresponding to that of the opening. The central body is of a composite carbon-carbon material; the base plate and securing means, of steel.

  • Patent number: 4409791
Abstract: A fuel intake tube passes radially through an engine casing. It is surrounded between the casing and an injector head by a second tube attached to the casing. Guidance means and a sealing element are provided between the fuel intake tube and the second tube. The device is equipped with one or more injector heads. The guidance means consist of two elements: a cap and cylindrical projections.
