    Abstract: A cable and cable pulling eye assembly prepared by heating the jacket at one cable end portion and radially compressing it to soften and redistribute the jacket material within the confines of a reduced outer diameter. A pulling eye which is too small to fit around the unreduced cable diameter is then fitted onto the reduced diameter end portion.
