  • Patent number: 11116686
Abstract: A method for inducing knee flexion is described that includes securing a knee rehabilitation device to a leg, the rehabilitation device includes a frame with a handle on a proximal end, a pad piece on a distal end, and a strap between the proximal end and the distal end. The method further includes positioning the knee rehabilitation device on the person's leg such that the handle is above a knee on the leg, the pad piece is on an ankle of the leg, and the strap is located behind the person's leg between the knee and ankle. A first force is then applied to the handle in a first direction. The pad piece is actuated in response to the first force to move in a second direction which applies a second force to the ankle of the leg in a direction to cause flexion of the knee.

  • Publication number: 20050019316
Abstract: An oil modification process which comprises exposing a glyceride oil to a lipase catalyst with the effect of rearrangement of fatty acid residues on the glyceride molecules, which rearrangement is carried out to a degree of 5-99%, using a lipase catalyst having a productivity value (LP)>2500—which means that within a standard period of three weeks at least 2500 kg of glyceride oil is enymatically rearranged to a standard degree of 95% with a standard consumption of 1 kg of lipase catalyst—which process is characterized in that it proceeds with an industrial throughput of at least 4000 kg oil in the first 48 hours.

  • Patent number: 5649895
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for stabilizing heavy metals in ash. The steps of the process include: (a) preparing an aqueous slurry of ash and water; (b) decreasing the pH of the aqueous slurry to less than about 5.0 in the presence of an iron salt; (c) treating the aqueous slurry with (1) an organo sulfur containing compound, (2) an alkaline extract of peat moss, and (3) an alkaline earth metal containing compound. Heavy metals in ash treated by this process will not leach into the environment.
