  • Patent number: 6264034
Abstract: Cardboard packing case for transporting a load with a base and at least four walls, a film made from heat-shrinkable plastic material, and a horizontal added board for pressing down and holding the heat-shrinkable film flat on the inner face of the base of the case, the board having a median line parallel to two walls for longitudinal folding of the board into a tent shape, the median line having a ridge facing towards the top of the case, wherein the film is in the form of a rectangular curtain in a single piece emerging on either side of two opposite edges of the board parallel to the median folding line and extending from those edges over a length sufficient to cover over one another, such that the film envelopes the load and immobilizes it by heat shrinking of the film, and a process and device for producing such a packing case.

  • Patent number: 6257411
Abstract: The invention concerns a case and a blank made of sheet corrugated cardboard or the like, the case having a polygonal cross section, having side faces, an upper face forming a lid, and a lower face forming the bottom of the case. The lid has at least two tabs located on two opposite sides of the lid, cut from the upper face or from side faces adjacent the upper face. The bottom has at least two recesses on its lower surface corresponding to the tabs, complementary in shape to the tabs and arranged such that the recesses fit into the tabs of a case stacked beneath.

  • Patent number: 6015084
Abstract: A set of blanks, a box, a method and a machine for making a packaging box that includes at least two blanks made of a fiberboard or corrugated fiberboard sheet material, i.e. a first blank comprising a series of at least four flaps for forming the side walls of the box, and a second blank comprising at least two panels joined together along a third fold line. The second blank straddles at least one fold line of the first blank, the first panel is attached to and/or centred on the first blank, and at least one of the second panels is attached to the first blank via means that enable movement of the second panels relative to the first blank when the box is formed by simultaneously wrapping said blanks around a volume having a predetermined size.

  • Patent number: 5878946
Abstract: The invention pertains to a carton, a blank and a process for manufacturing a carton of sheet material. The carton includes a cover formed by inner and outer flaps, and two sinkable corner regions situated respectively on either side of the carton or of the cover, straddling the fold lines corresponding to two walls and two opposing flaps. It includes an elongate handle comprising a lower band made of a sheet material formed at least in part by a detachable part belonging to at least one outer flap and a reinforcing upper band secured to the lower band having ends fixed on each side to opposing lateral walls, underneath the sinkable corner regions with respect to the upper face of the cover. The handle encompasses or extends opposite the sinkable corner regions so that, when the handle is pulled substantially perpendicularly to the upper face of the cover, handle portions situated opposite the sinkable corner regions sink into the regions.

  • Patent number: 5843543
Abstract: A structure obtained by laying filaments on a convex axisymmetric surface to provide a hemispherical surface. The structure may include with a circular hole or a dead zone centered on an axis of the surface and may be formed by laying filaments along a geodesic path. The structure includes a first and second part, in which the first part includes the axis. The geodesic path formed by the filaments on the first part may be spaced a predetermined distance the opening or circular dead zone.

  • Patent number: 5704540
Abstract: A carton has a bottom, side walls and top. A strap handle is attached to both sidewalls and extends over the top. The handle fits into slots that extend from the side wall into the top. The handles are attached to the side wall below these slots. The ends of the slots have enlarged areas that retain the handle as it extends through the slot. The enlarged areas can be any number of different shapes.

  • Patent number: 5441584
Abstract: Method for laying filaments on a convex axisymmetric surface, especially a hemispherical surface, provided with a circular hole or a dead zone centered on the pole, wherein a regular set of points are defined on a reference circle of the surface, the filament being laid along a geodesic path from one first departure point to one first arrival point on the reference circle, the same laying process being reproduced for a second pair of departure and arrival points so as to lay a set of filaments (so-called a lap) and then the same laying process is repeated via successive shifts until each point of the reference circle is at the same time and solely a single departure and arrival point, so as to obtain a layer, and possibly restarting the process until the desired thickness is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5406031
Abstract: An electrical component has a body (1) and a plurality of leads extending from the body, and is enclosed in an insulating plastics sleeve (4) that extends over the body and leads. The sleeve (4) has a number of heat-recoverable end portions (6, 7) that extend over the leads and enclose a quantity of solder (8, 9), so that the leads can be permanently connected to further terminals by heating the end portions of the sleeves to cause them to recover and the solder to fuse.
