Abstract: The invention relates to an analysis method for the in vitro diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in a dog, using the CPSE contained in biological fluid samples collected from the dog as well as biological molecules specifically binding CPSE. The invention is characterised in that it includes the following steps: a. collecting a biological fluid sample from a dog; b. measuring the canine prostate specific esterase (CPSE) of said sample; c. comparing said measured CPSE concentration with a reference value, said value being from around 34 ng/ml to around 102.4 ng/ml for serum or plasma, preferably around 61 ng/ml; d. using the CPSE concentration as a BPH marker; and e. diagnosing BPH in a dog when measured CPSE concentrations in said sample exceed said reference value.

Abstract: Taught herein are therapeutic pharmaceutical compositions (vaccines) and methods for preventing or treating leishmaniasis and infections mediated by intracellular pathogenic micro-organism in mammals and in particular in humans, members of the dog, cat and horse family. The pharmaceutical compositions comprise composition of matter produced by from Leishmania sp. amastigotes and/or promastigotes in a specific germ-free and serum-free medium, and particularly excreted-secreted proteins of Leishmania sp. amastigotes and/or promastigotes.

Abstract: The invention concerns immunoglobulins characterized in that they include immunoglobulins of IgG2 classes and corresponding sub-classes, specific of secretion-excretion antigens of the prosmatigote and asmatigote forms of Leishmania sp, capable of lyzing Leishmania sp amastigotes and promastigotes in vitro, and neutralizing their proliferation.

Abstract: A therapeutic vaccine peptide complex for preventing or treating disorders in mammals and particularly in humans, in Canidae, Felidae and Equidae whose protective immunity depends on the stimulation of type Th1 lymphocytes and in particular a delayed state of hypersensitivity. The vaccine peptide complex contains the following amino acid sequence (A16E): A-A-R-S-A-R-S-R-E-G-Y-S-L-T-D-E sequence wherein L can be substituted by I, and S by C, and/or the following amino acid sequence (A16G): A-A-S-S-T-P-S-P-G-S-G-C-E-V-D-G sequence wherein C can be substituted by S, and S by C, and an adjuvant which preferably induces a cell-mediated response.
