Abstract: A snowshoe or racket is provided comprising a frame with T cross section having a pivot pin on which is hingedly mounted a pivoting structure for fixing different sized shoes. An intermediate spacer connects together the side members of the frame below a central lattice forming a perforated bearing surface. A fin extends the outer side member outwardly over the whole of its length and forms a sliding bearing surface. The pivoting structure comprises a rigid base plate with a front stirrup piece and a rear heel piece.
