  • Patent number: 6452372
Abstract: A junction field effect transistor (JFET) RF oscillator-detector circuit generates an RF signal for an apparatus for conducting electrical measurements of particles contained in a carrier fluid passing through an aperture in a cytometer flow cell. The JFET oscillator includes a plurality of parallel-coupled JFETs having respectively different VDS vs. IDS characteristics, that are biased to operate at square law detection regions of their respective VDS vs. IDS characteristics. One JFET operates in Class C mode, while the other operates in Class AB mode. An RF resonant circuit is electrically coupled to the JFETs and to the measurement cell, and is operative to establish the frequency of an RF field applied to the measurement cell. An RF load change detection circuit is coupled to the RF resonator circuit and is operative to detect an RF load change associated with a modification of the RF field as a result of a particle within the measurement cell aperture.

  • Patent number: 6375369
Abstract: A housing assembly permitting the adjustable positioning a surveillance camera enclosed therein. The housing assembly comprises a housing having a cylindrical camera opening therein for receiving the surveillance camera., a camera sled, a detachable lens assembly. The camera sled holds the surveillance camera and is slidably receivable in and rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the camera opening. The camera sled includes positioning means for adjustably fixing the position and orientation of the camera sled assembly within the camera opening. The ballistic lens assembly encloses the camera sled and surveillance camera within the housing. In an alternate embodiment the housing assembly further comprises a pan and tilt mechanism which permits the housing assembly to be manually position within a predetermined range of pan and tilt and acts as a wireway for the camera cabling.

  • Patent number: 4219389
Abstract: Acrylic acid is separated from its solutions in tri-n-butyl phosphate by establishing from such a solution a vapor phase comprising substantially all of the acrylic acid and a portion of the solvent, at a temperature below the degradation point of the acrylic acid; next partially or totally condensing said vapor phase; and then distilling the acrylic acid from such condensation product, while maintaining an amount of acrylic acid at the base of the distillation column, and conducting the distillation under conditions such that neither solvent degradation nor acrylic acid crystallization results.

  • Patent number: 4005114
Abstract: Propylene oxide is separated from the crude reaction product resulting from the oxidation of propylene, which separation is effected by distilling said reaction product in the presence of a neutral ester of phosphoric acid.

  • Patent number: 3947476
Abstract: A liquid phase continuous process for producing propylene oxide comprising oxidizing propylene with a molecular oxygen-containing gas in a solvent which is (a) water-insoluble and (b) as immiscible with organic carboxylic acids as possible; condensing the gaseous reaction products; adding water to the condensed reaction products to dissolve any undissolved acids contained therein; separating the aqueous phase from the resulting two-phase (aqueous and organic) system; recycling the organic phase to the reaction; and removing from the reaction a liquid containing propylene oxide and recovering the propylene oxide therefrom.
