  • Patent number: 5920801
Abstract: The system includes centralizing communications equipment (4) provided with first transmitter-receiver means (5, 6) connected to at least one transmit and receive cable (3) for transmitting and receiving radio signals, which cable extends throughout the served installation. The system also includes subscriber terminal appliances (2A to 2E) located in the installation and provided with second transmitter and/or receiver means (8 to 12) for transmitting and/or receiving radio signals, which means enable the terminal appliances to communicate via the communications equipment. The communications equipment re-transmits the signals that it receives to each destination terminal appliance in the installation and, with the assistance of additional means (27 to 31), outside said installation. The subscriber terminal appliances and the centralizing communications equipment respectively include means enabling them to transmit and/or receive digitized information signals in the form of packets and via radio links.

  • Patent number: 5838736
Abstract: The apparatus and method pertain to generation of two receive carriers which are related to each other in quadrature. The apparatus and method employ a phase-shifter which generates one or more phase-shifted signals from a received signal. A signal selector selects a signal as a function of either a predetermined phase state associated with an initialization symbol during reception of the symbol or an estimated phase state estimated by a demodulation state on the basis of the received signal during reception of the message symbols such that the selected signal constitutes a receive carrier, which is also referred to as a reference carrier. In addition, the selected signal is stored and played back after a symbol duration before delivering the reference carrier. Finally, a second phase-shifter is used to generate a second receive carrier from the reference carrier.

  • Patent number: 5818822
Abstract: A wireless local area network includes a plurality of stations each comprising a data processing machine connected to a radio send-receive interface. Each data processing machine includes an interface controller for sending a message containing an address designating a destination station and for receiving messages addressed to it. The network further includes a repeater including a radio send-receive interface connected to a radiating cable passing near all the stations to receive all messages sent by the stations, to modify these messages to indicate that the message has passed through the repeater and to retransmit these messages over the radiating cable. The radio send-receive interface of each station ignores any messages not sent by the repeater. The wireless local area network finds an application in computer networking.

  • Patent number: 5655341
Abstract: A plastic material is injected in the fluid state into a flexible closed mold (2, 3) comprising a molding cavity (6) in which is placed the edge of the glass pane (5). The plastic material is injected into the cavity (6) of the mold in the inert state and is then activated by high-frequency electromagnetic radiation or by microwave radiation. An insert (22) is placed in the cavity (6) of the mold before the injection of the plastic material. The injection and the subsequent hardening of the plastic material are carried out inside the cavity of the mold (6) [sic] in which cavity are arranged, during these operations, the edge (5a) of the glass pane (5), and the insert (22) in their definitive relative position on the glass pane in the shaped state. The invention can be used to produce glass panes for motor vehicles, comprising inserts consisting of trim strips, for a decorative purpose, or of elements such as ducts, cables or fastening screws having a functional purpose.

  • Patent number: 5317318
Abstract: A system for identifying persons, animals or objects provided with identifying badges comprises at least one interrogator provided with a microwave transmitter producing interrogation signals modulated by a BARKER code. A plurality of transponder type identifying badges use the power of a BARKER code modulated signal received from an interrogator to transmit a respective microwave response code transposed from the received signal. At least one identification receiver is adapted to decode the microwave response codes from the badges by a correlative method. The system is incorporated into a server application, in particular a multiservice telephone installation processing the identification information that it provides.

  • Patent number: 4984234
Abstract: A time-division switching system, in particular a multiservice key telephone or PABX system, is controlled by programmed management logic and synchronized by a timebase for selective on-demand exchange of information between terminations to which telecommunications terminals are connected either directly or through links to other, identical or at least compatible switching systems. The system includes programmed system management logic based on an optionally duplicated processor with directly addressable memory which stores all command operations, in particular those for switching information exchanged by means of the terminations which are connected in parallel to a port of the processor by a bus-type time-division multiplex link.
