  • Patent number: 12257970
Abstract: A vehicle interior panel for use over an airbag includes a hinge layer with a folded portion having nested folds. The folded portion interconnects a first portion embedded in an airbag door region of a panel substrate with a second portion embedded in the panel substrate outside the airbag door region. The nested folds are simpler and faster to form than other types of folds and contribute to improved airbag door kinematics.

  • Patent number: 12238372
Abstract: A method of identifying media content presented on a display device includes determining a selected input source providing a video signal to the display device, and then selecting a first set of content identification rules when it is determined that the selected input source is a first input source, and selecting a second set of content identification rules when it is determined that the selected input source is a second input source. The method further comprises applying the selected first set or second set of content identification rules to the video signal in order to generate content identification data for the media content presented on the display device. Application of the content identification rules includes waiting for a trigger event and applying an algorithm to one or more frames of the video signal following the trigger event.

  • Patent number: 12090691
Abstract: A method of making a vehicle interior panel having a molded-in airbag door includes cutting a hinge layer of the panel while the hinge layer is supported in a panel molding tool. The hinge layer can be in the form of a reinforcing net and is cut along a perimeter of the airbag door away from the airbag door hinge. The cutting occurs in the molding tool either before or after molding material is introduced into the mold cavity. The cutting also occurs before, during, or after the molding tool is closed from an open condition. A cutter of the molding tool is either stationary or moveable with respect to the portion of the molding tool from which it extends.

  • Patent number: 11167711
Abstract: Airbag deployment data is collected using a plurality of sensors located along a line of weakening formed in a vehicle interior panel. The sensors are configured to provide information pertinent to separation of adjacent portions of the panel from each other as a function of time at a plurality of locations along the line of weakening. Each sensor is attached to the panel so that the sensor crosses the line. The relative time at which a conductive part of each sensor breaks is recorded and provides useful information about airbag door behavior during airbag deployment.
