  • Publication number: 20240074724
Abstract: Airflow changes in a subject's airway can be monitored and/or quantified using B-mode ultrasound, such as by computing respiratory parameter data from motion signals generated from B-mode signals. This monitoring may be performed before, during, or following a procedure, or may be used as a general patient monitoring tool. For example, signs of airway obstruction or respiratory compromise and/or failure during timeframes where patients have ongoing or residual sedation or anesthetics in their system can be monitored.

  • Patent number: 11819322
Abstract: Described here are systems and methods for monitoring airflow changes in a patient's airway during a medical procedure or as a general patient monitoring tool. Doppler ultrasound signals are acquired from the tracheal wall of the patient and parameters from those Doppler ultrasound signals are compared to baseline parameters. When a threshold change is detected, an alarm can be provided to a user to indicate respiratory compromise, which can include early airway compromise or airway obstruction.

  • Patent number: 11819321
Abstract: Described here are systems and methods for monitoring airflow changes in a patient's airway during a medical procedure or as a general patient monitoring tool. Doppler ultrasound signals are acquired from an anatomical region within the patient's airway (e.g., a tracheal wall, a cricothyroid ligament, other connective or cartilaginous tissue within the trachea, larynx, or pharynx) and parameters from those Doppler ultrasound signals are compared to baseline parameters, which may include inputting Doppler ultrasound signals to a suitably trained deep learning model or other machine learning algorithm. When a threshold change is detected, an alarm can be provided to a user to indicate respiratory compromise and/or failure, which can include early airway compromise, airway failure, and/or airway obstruction.

  • Publication number: 20210318268
Abstract: Pressure and pressure or displacement variations are measured in a media, such as a fluid (e.g., air, other gases, or other liquid fluids), using ultrasound. The pressure may be sound pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure), pseudo-sound pressure (e.g., hydrodynamic pressure), displacement, and so on. By measuring pressure or displacement, the flow in the fluid can be measured, estimated, parameterized, or otherwise quantified. In this way, measurements of pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure, hydrodynamic pressure) or displacement can be correlated or otherwise converted into a measurement of flow. The pressure measurements can also be converted into audio signals that can be played back to a user.

  • Publication number: 20200210168
Abstract: A firmware update system includes a microcontroller which includes an encryption module configured to perform an encryption function. An update module is configured to communicate with the microcontroller to provide a firmware update. The update module includes a decryption module configured to convert the firmware update from plaintext into decryption ciphertext using a decryption function. The encryption module is configured to convert the decryption ciphertext into plaintext such that the microcontroller can execute the plaintext to implement the firmware update.
