  • Patent number: 11186107
Abstract: A printing method comprising the steps of: supplying media of a given media type to a printer; printing images onto the media in accordance with given print specifications and settings, thereby to obtain a print result; measuring a performance indicator that is representative of a property of the print result; and comparing the measured performance indicator to a corresponding target value, wherein the target value for said performance indicator is obtained from an actual or simulated production print process on media of the given media type; and in that a message is produced when the measured performance indicator deviates from the target value by more than a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 10061546
Abstract: The present invention relates to a printing system, comprising a print job receiving section permitting a user to submit a print job to the printing system, the print job comprising a plurality of print job settings, a print job queue section comprising a print job queue for print jobs submitted to the printing system and scheduled to be printed, and a proof print repository section comprising a proof print repository for proof print jobs submitted to the printing system. The printing system comprises a continuous monitoring section configured to compare print job settings of a proof print job residing in the proof print repository or scheduled in the print job queue with current resources available in the printing system according to a proof print policy. The proof print policy is attached to the proof print job and comprises a comparison criterion.

    Inventor: Gerardus G. J. C. Kessels
  • Patent number: 9910625
Abstract: A method for creating and processing specifications for a combined print product includes determining a plurality of parts needed to produce the combined print product, selecting a corresponding digital representation of the determined part from a digital representation collection, displaying the digital representations, and creating a digital hierarchical structure of the digital representations. An order in the digital hierarchical structure defines usage of the parts, appliance of the parts and a combination of the parts in a production process of the combined print product. Each part of the plurality of parts belongs to a part category out of a set of part categories, and the plurality of parts includes at least two resources, at least one device action, at least one finishing action, at least one combination action, at least one device and at least two logical concepts. A combined print product processing system is configured to apply the method.

  • Patent number: 5973721
Abstract: A method of printing image information on a receiving material, two sides of which are provided with a binding portion for collecting a plurality of receiving materials into a booklet, the image information of at least two images being printed next to one another on the receiving material such that the images situated next to one another are printed with reading orientations rotated 180.degree. relative to one another and forming a right angle with the sides of the receiving material that are provided with the binding portion. To rotate the images, a fast method of rotating digital images is described which requires minimal memory space. Furthermore, the rotation method is particularly applicable to rotating a series of images and includes the capability of rotating each image in the series differently while utilizing minimal memory space and processor time.

  • Patent number: 5483354
Abstract: An image forming method and apparatus in which digital image data is stored in a memory and read out of the memory to form images on copy sheets in a first image orientation or in a second image orientation rotated through 180.degree. with respect to the first image orientation, first image data relating to images to be formed in the first orientation being stored in the memory in ascending address sequence, starting from the first free memory address, and second image data relating to images to be formed in the second orientation being stored in the memory in descending address sequence, starting from the last free memory address, while reading out from the memory is effected in ascending address sequence for both the first and the second image data.
