Patents by Inventor Gerardus Henricus Franciscus Willebrordus Steenbruggen

Gerardus Henricus Franciscus Willebrordus Steenbruggen has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9263651
Abstract: An LED package including a collimator body adapted to collect and/or reflect and/or focus light. An upper plane provided by the collimator body defines a mainly horizontal plane. At least one reflection surface is provided by the collimator body and is at least partially angled to the horizontal plane. The collimator body includes a recess for receiving a lighting element including a light emitting front face such that the reflection surface extends at least partially below the level of the front face in an assembled state. Due to the angle of the reflection surface with respect to the horizontal plane of the collimator body, a small light source and a high luminous flux at the same time are provided so that the luminance and the brightness of the LED package are increased.

  • Patent number: 8664683
Abstract: A method for providing, on a carrier (40), an insulative spacer layer (26) which is patterned such that a cavity (27) is formed which enables connection of an optical semiconductor element (41) to the intended conductor structure (22) when placed inside the cavity (27). The cavity (27) is formed such that it, through its shape, extension and/or depth, accurately defines a location of an optical element (45; 61) in relation to the optical semiconductor element (41). Through the provision of such a patterned insulative spacer layer, compact and cost-efficient optical semiconductor devices can be mass-produced based on such a carrier without the need for prolonged development or acquisition of new and expensive manufacturing equipment.

  • Patent number: 7176582
Abstract: In an example embodiment, the semiconductor device comprises a carrier and a semiconductor element, such as an integrated circuit. The carrier is provided with apertures, thereby defining connecting conductors having side faces. Notches are present in the side faces. The semiconductor element is enclosed in an encapsulation that extends into the notches in the carrier. As a result, the encapsulation is mechanically anchored in the carrier. The semiconductor device can be made in a process wherein, after the encapsulating step, no lithographic steps are necessary.
