Abstract: A phototherapy blanket configured to cover, support, and/or envelop at least part of a subject, the phototherapy blanket comprising: a set of light sources configured to emit electromagnetic radiation, wherein the set of light sources is held and/or carried in by the phototherapy blanket; a temperature sensor configured to generate a first signal conveying information related to a temperature of a region of a surface of the at least part of the subject covered, supported, and/or enveloped in the phototherapy blanket, a surface sensor configured to provide information about presence of the surface of the at least part of the subject, wherein the surface sensor is positioned proximate to the temperature sensor such that the surface sensor is configured to generate a second signal indicative of presence of the region of the surface of the at least part of the subject, and a control module configured to control the intensity of the set of light sources based on the first and the second signal.
