Abstract: There is disclosed a process for the preparation of a powdered stabilizer mixture comprising tin stabilizers and adsorbents, which process comprises mixing and heating at least one carboxylic acid or a carboxylic anhydride, at least one organotin oxide and at least one, preferably mineral, adsorbent.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions comprising 20-80% of a vinyl chloride homopolymer (PVC) and 80-20% of at least one copolymer selected from the group consisting of polystyrene/polyethylene/butylene, acrylate/rubber, acrylate/rubber/styrene, acrylonitrile/styrene/acrylate, ABS, NBR, NAR, SAN, EVA and modified EVA, which compositions are stabilized with at least one tin compound of formula(n-C.sub.12 H.sub.25).sub.2 Sn[S(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOR].sub.2 (I) or(n-C.sub.12 H.sub.25)Sn[S(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOR.sup.1 ].sub.3 (II)or with a mixture of compounds of formulae I and II, wherein n is 1 or 2 and R and R.sup.1 are each independently of the other C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 alkyl. These compositions have improved heat storage properties and are particularly suitable for fabricating sheets and hollow bodies for use in the automotive industry.

Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic moulding compositions based on polymers of vinyl chloride and containing 0.1 to 5% by weight of a 2-thio-6-aminouracil of the formula I ##STR1## wherein each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently is a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 24 carbon atoms which can be substituted by --OH, --COOR.sup.4, --O(C.dbd.O)R.sup.4, --(C.dbd.O)R.sup.4, halogen or amino, and R.sup.3 is hydrogen, acyl of 2 to 24 carbon atoms or --(C.dbd.O)NHR.sup.4, while R.sup.4 is a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 24 carbon atoms.

Abstract: Chlorine-containing thermoplastics, especially polyvinyl chloride, can be stabilized against thermal degradation by incorporating therein synergistic mixtures consisting of (a) a mercaptan of the formula R(CH.sub.2 SH).sub.2, wherein n is 2 to 4 and R represents a n-valent aromatic radical, and (b) an epoxidized plasticizer.

Abstract: Mono- or bistetrazoles of the formula I ##STR1## wherein n is 1 or 2, R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or a monovalent hydrocarbon radical and R represents a monovalent or divalent hydrocarbon radical which can be interrupted by oxygen, NY, sulfur, SO.sub.2 and/or CO.sub.2 or substituted by OH or SH, and wherein Y represents hydrogen or a monovalent hydrocarbon radical. These compounds, especially when used in combination with epoxy plasticizers and/or metal salt stabilizers, are outstanding heat stabilizers for chlorine-containing thermoplastics, especially for PVC. Particular interest attaches to the combinations of tetrazoles with epoxy plasticizers, for example epoxidized soya bean oil, which constitute a metal-free stabilizer system.
