Abstract: A lid for a cooking utensil comprising a valve-containing knob 2 rotatably supported on the lid 1. The lid 1 has a hole 3 therethrough. The valve-containing knob 2 has a venting outlet 4 which can be selectively aligned with the hole 3 in the lid 1. In order to be able to guarantee a vented position, a whistle position and also a closed position being attained utilizing a simple and reliable design of the valve-containing knob, the invention provides that the valve-containing knob 2 is supported on a central support element fastened on the lid 1 and is initially tensioned against the lid 1 by means of a initial tensioning element 5, and that the valve-containing knob 2 has a whistle opening 6 adapted to be arranged in alignment with the hole 3 in the lid 1.

Abstract: A fastening device for fastening a handle element on a cooking utensil. In order to assure an easy mounting with a simple manufacturing capability and in order to assure that the handle element even after longer use is fixedly anchored to the cooking utensil, it is provided that at least one support element is fastened to the cooking utensil, which support element has a substantially V-shaped cross section at least in one partial area. At least one cup-shaped fastening element is mounted on the handle element, which fastening element in turn is mounted onto the support element and has on the opposite inside walls a rigid holding bar and a holding spring opposite the holding bar.

Abstract: A button for a utensil lid includes a blocking member disposed against the lid and a handle part supported on the blocking member. A fastening element extends through the lid, holds the handle part and blocking member in place, and has passageways which provide communication from a chamber in the blocking member to the opposite side of the lid. The blocking element has openings providing communication between the chamber and the region outside the blocking member. A collar encircles the blocking member and is supported for limited rotation thereon, the openings in the blocking member being obstructed and free from obstruction when the collar is respectively in first and second positions relative to the blocking member.

Abstract: A handle for a pan or lid. At least one spring is provided on the handle for holding the handle body to either the lid or the pan. The spring is received in a groove formed in the handle body and is in the form of a leaf spring having a bent over portion forming a hook. A cross-piece is provided and is secured to either the pan or the lid. The back side of the hook is braced against a shoulder formed on the handle body and the hook portion is urged into resilient engagement with the cross-piece to hold the handle body onto the pan or lid.
