  • Patent number: 5416824
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics apparatus has a height-adjustable patient support plate vertically mounted on a pedestal, and an x-ray image intensifier adjustably mounted beneath the support plate at the pedestal. The x-ray image intensifier is mounted so as to be adjustable in position between an exposure position and a standby position. In the standby position, the image intensifier does not interfere with lowering of the support plate, which can thus be lowered to a position to more easily accommodate placement of a patient on the support plate. The x-ray image intensifier can be horizontally aligned in the standby position, or can be located outside the region of the support plate.

  • Patent number: 5409001
Abstract: A medical therapy system includes an x-ray system for locating a treatment site in a patient and a therapy device for administering medical therapy. Apparatus is provided for supporting and positioning the therapy device, which includes a computer into which the position of the therapy device can be entered with reference to the x-ray images, with automatic positioning of the therapy device being undertaken based on the entered data.

  • Patent number: 5349625
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics installation for peripheral angiography examinations includes a control unit having an arithmetic unit that, on the basis of subject-related data supplied thereto, effects a pre-setting of the electrical parameters of the installation required for every exposure, plus the step length and the number of steps of the relative adjustment of the exposure unit and the patient support relative to one another, as well as the required diaphragm setting. By virtue of the pre-setting, stress on the patient is reduced, and since the overall time per examination is also reduced, patient throughput can be increased.

  • Patent number: 4965456
Abstract: A radiation shielding device having a radiation shielding wall that absorbs x-rays, the wall being mounted on a displaceable carriage on a height adjustable mounting member, the shielding wall including two wall members, the first wall member being arranged under the second wall member, the second wall member being made of a transparent material and being pivotal about a horizontal axis.

  • Patent number: 4853948
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics installation includes an x-ray source, an x-ray image intensifier with a following video chain, a sheet film changer, and a support table for an examination subject. The sheet film changer is mounted on a carriage moveable beneath the patient support table. The x-ray source and the x-ray image intensifier are displaceable together along the support table, and the sheet film changer is positionable by means of the undercarriage in the beam path in front of the x-ray image intensifier, and is couplable thereto so that it follows the movements of the x-ray image intensifier along the support table on its carriage. The installation can thus be optionally used for transillumination or exposure of an examination subject on the table.

  • Patent number: 4744099
Abstract: A positioning control system controls the shifting of one of a plurality of radiation filters into the ray path. Transducers provide an electric density signal which is dependent upon the density of the examination subject. The control system has an electromotor activated by a control circuit to which the density signal is applied and which activates the motor corresponding to the respective density signal for the purpose of selection of the correct filter. The transducers may be coupled with a device physically acting in compression on a body part of the patient to be examined such that the degree of resistance of the body part to compression is sensed by the transducers as a measure of patient density.
