    Abstract: The present invention relates to a coating on a substrate. It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved coating on a substrate, which coating is to reduce the temperature felt by a person walking on the substrate as well as the actual temperature on the surface. The present invention provides a coating on a substrate that includes an impregnation material, respectively base material, which is adhered on the substrate, a particulate material adhered on the impregnation material, respectively base material, and optionally, a top coat covering an upper surface of the coating, in which the particulate material consists of crushed acrylic paint and/or wherein the particulate material is a platelet-shaped particulate material, and/or wherein the particulate material has an angular or very-angular shape such that the upper surface of the coating has a roughness of between 0.5 mm and 3 mm.
