  • Patent number: 5151865
Abstract: The method for determining the energy content value (EIW) of electrochemical energy stores (1) by measuring the terminal voltage (U.sub.KL) of an energy store (1) recognizes at least one reference value (BW) that is formed from a sum current (EI) flowing in the energy store (1) in a specific time unit (dt) and in a specific operating voltage range (BSB) and/or from reaction values of the energy store (1) such as the internal resistance, the inside temperature and the acid density; dependent on a defined terminal voltage (U.sub.KL) in the operating voltage range (BSB) and on a defined energy content value (EIW) in an energy content range (EIB), this reference value (BW) thereby represents a function value. The measured terminal voltage (U.sub.KL) referred to the function value (FW) corresponds to a specific energy content value (EIW) in the energy content range (EIB).

  • Patent number: 4681254
Abstract: For use in a radiator space heating system, a thermostatic valve for controlling the flow of heating agent to the radiator is provided with a bypass and at least two auxiliary valves. One auxiliary valve is disposed in the bypass and controlled by the thermostat. The other auxiliary valve is timer-controlled and disposed in series with the thermostatic valve. When temperature reduction is desired, such as during nighttime operation, the timer-controlled auxiliary valve closes, but the bypass auxiliary valve can open when the set-back temperature is reached.

  • Patent number: 4564827
Abstract: In a programmable control means for switching timers or chronometers, a magnetic field sensor having a ferromagnetically alloyed wire is disposed on a program carrier. A coil is brought into the proximity of the wire. A permanent magnet adjacent thereto has a magnetic field which influences the core polarity of the wire such that the coil emits voltage pulses given polarity changes therein for the control of an electric or of an electronic switch. According to the invention the sensor wire is releasably disposed on the program carrier.

  • Patent number: 4506826
Abstract: A time-controlled heat regulator has the capability of controlling a heat supply so as to lower the temperature of a heated area during nighttime and to increase the supply of heat in dependence upon outside temperature to begin raising the temperature of the heated area in advance of a point in time at which the heated area is desired to attain a specified temperature. The heat regulator has a time-controlled variable resistor interconnected in a bridge circuit, the variable resistor being cut into the circuit at the beginning of a longest chronologically possible heat-up phase dependent on the outside temperature. The resistance of the variable resistor changes over time until reaching coincidence with the resistance value of an outside temperature sensor. The length of time of the heat-up phase is thus dimensioned backwardly from the time of reaching the desired area temperature as a function of the prevailing outside temperature.

  • Patent number: 4504154
Abstract: An indexing unit in the form of a disc or an endless tape for switching chronometers has a number of programmable switch tabs disposed at an edge of the element forming a unitary structure, the switch tabs being depressable against the influence of a restoring force for positioning selected tabs in at least one programming position for actuating a separate switch device for switching a chronometer. The indexing element is comprised of flexible foil having a number of uniformly spaced incisions at an edge thereof. Each tab formed between successive incisions has a free end which may be pressed behind a retaining element for programming the indexing element.

  • Patent number: 4449832
Abstract: Manually actuatable means are provided for programming or time setting a digital-electronic time switch device which utilizes an analog program input eliminating the need for a separate data display terminal. The time setting system includes a manually adjustable dial assembly having at least one adjustable indicator arm movable about an annular time marking scale and connected through a train to a command encoder. The command encoder includes a wheel connected to the dial train for forward or backward rotation. The wheel is suitably constructed, such as by radial slits to code dial assembly settings for triggering a digital information transducer, such as an opto-electronic device, which signals an electronic counter. The electronic counter adjusts the device data memory by specific time units in relation to the digital information received by the command encoder. The dial assembly inherently indicates the adjusted time setting to the operator in readily observable analog form.

  • Patent number: 4420666
Abstract: A key contact set includes a plurality of electrical key contacts having key buttons, and includes a cover plate with a plurality of key openings through which the respective key buttons project. The key openings and the key buttons each have the shape of a segment of a circle, an ellipse, or a similarly shaped figure. The marking associated with each key is provided on the cover plate in the complementary segment of the circle, ellipse, or other figure. The portion of the cover plate surrounding each key is preferably bent forwardly or rearwardly from the main plane of the cover plate to define a curved surface, and each key button preferably is provided with a service surface having substantially the same radius of curvature as the bent portion of the cover plate.
