  • Patent number: 9184832
Abstract: Concept for transmitting payload data from a transmitter to a receiver via a communication channel within a time interval, wherein channel-coded data packets are generated from the payload data, wherein each of the channel-coded data packets has packet core data corresponding to a packet identification of the respective channel-coded data packet, and wherein the packet core data is coded with a channel code of higher redundancy than the payload data. The channel-coded data packets are sent without any return channel to the receiver, which decodes packet core data of a first received channel-coded data packet of the time interval.

  • Patent number: 9172522
Abstract: A data transmitter for transmitting a data packet to a data receiver via a communication channel includes a generator for generating the data packet and a transmitter for transmitting the data packet. The generator for generating the data packet is configured to generate a data packet having a first data block and a second data block and a predefined first reference sequence and second reference sequence for synchronizing the data receiver, wherein the first reference sequence is longer than the second reference sequence, and wherein in the data packet, the second data block is located between the first reference sequence and the second reference sequence, and the first reference sequence is located between the first data block and the second data block. The transmitter for transmitting the data packet is configured to transmit the data packet to the data receiver via the communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20140192789
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a base station including bidirectional data transmission to a node. The base station has a receiver for receiving a data packet transmitted by the node at a node transmission frequency, the node transmission frequency being derived from a frequency generator of the node. In addition, the base station has a determiner for determining the node transmission frequency based on the data packet received and for determining a deviation of the frequency generator of the node based on a frequency deviation between the determined node transmission frequency and a set node transmission frequency associated to the node. Furthermore, the base station has a transmitter for transmitting a data packet to the node at a base station transmission frequency, the transmitter for transmitting the data packet being configured to set the base station transmission frequency based on the determined deviation of the frequency generator of the node.

  • Publication number: 20140176341
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a battery-operated stationary sensor arrangement with a unidirectional data transmission. The battery-operated stationary sensor arrangement has a sensor, a means for generating data packets and a means for transmitting data packets. The transmitter is implemented to determine sensor data and provide a sensor data packet based on the sensor data, wherein the sensor data has an amount of data of less than 1 kbit. The means for generating data packets is implemented to divide the sensor data packet into at least two data packets, wherein each of the at least two data packets is shorter than the sensor data packet. The means for transmitting data packets is implemented to transmit the data packets with a data rate of less than 50 kbit/s and a time interval via a communication channel.

  • Patent number: 7590381
Abstract: It is a finding of the present invention that a user of a broadcast receiver gets text information significantly more quickly if a reference to another text information object in the broadcasting signal is contained in a text information object included in the broadcasting signal, which is currently displayed on the display of the broadcast receiver, and the user is enabled to cause the text information to be displayed to be changed from the text information of the current text information object to the text information of the text information object to which the current text information object refers by simple operation of a user selection means. Here, the additional effort is very limited since in today's broadcast receivers there mostly is an “unoccupied” key, which only has an assigned function and thus is occupied in special situations of use of the broadcast receiver, and may be used as user selection means, as far as that goes.
