  • Patent number: 8532389
Abstract: A robust OCR system requiring little computing capacity is obtained by first carrying out an adaptive pre-processing optimised in terms of pixel groups, which analyses the image in line segments. The most significant difference compared to previously known methods is that there is no longer a direct pattern comparison, instead the line segments are gone over in as optimum a manner as possible. The corresponding character is then deduced from the sequence of movements. As this sequence of movements can be scaled well and described in a relatively simple manner, this technique is especially suitable for mobile use. The sequence of movements of know characters is stored in a search word, such that the letters can be directly deduced from the movement. A dictionary/lexicon can also be used. If words are recognized by means of the dictionary/lexicon, the recognized letters can be used for an even more optimized character font identification.

  • Patent number: 7787862
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for video object monitoring with a mobile communication system, whereby a connection between a transmitter provided with a video camera and at least one receiver is established for transmitting video data over the mobile communication system. To ensure that the video data transmitted by the transmitter can only be received by authorized receivers, the invention provides that before or while the connection is set up, a device of the mobile communication system checks, if the receiver is authorized to receive video data from the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7603270
Abstract: A method for the transmission of audio signals between a transmitter and at least one receiver operates according to the prioritizing pixel transmission method. The audio signal is first broken down into a number of spectral fractions. The broken-down audio signal is stored in a two-dimensional array with a plurality of fields. The dimensions to be registered in the field are frequency and time; the value to be registered in the field is amplitude. Groups are then formed from the individual fields and a priority is assigned to the individual groups, in which the priority will be gauged as higher if the amplitudes of the group values are higher, and/or if the amplitude differences of the values of one group are higher, and/or if the groups are closer to actual time. Finally, the groups are transmitted to the receiver according to the order of their established priority.

  • Patent number: 7583843
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the transmission of additional information when using a method for compressing data by means of a prioritizing pixel transmission, said data consisting of individual pixel groups, each of which comprises a positional value within an image array and at least one pixel value. The minimum size of the image array is defined by the height (h) and the width (b) of an image, expressed in pixels. The invention is characterized by the fact that positional values which do not occur in the actual data but lie outside the range of the image array are used during the transmission of additional information.

  • Patent number: 7444023
Abstract: A method for coding and decoding digital data stored or transmitted according to the pixels method for transmitting prioritized pixels. The content of the information to the coded or decoded consists of individual pixel groups. Each pixel group comprises a place value, at least one pixel value and a priority value assigned thereto. At least one key which makes possible to code or decode the place value and/or the pixel value or values of the pixel group is used. The most varied needs can be taken into consideration during the coding in terms of used keys and coded parts of information, for example the place values and/or the pixel group values.

  • Patent number: 7359560
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for compression and decompression of pixel-based image data. Each pixel first has the pixel value determined. A pixel difference value is then determined for each pixel, from a given number of neighboring pixels, which results from the difference in the pixel value for the pixel in question to each of the neighboring pixels thereof. The pixel difference values are then sorted in descending order. Each pixel used for the calculation of a pixel difference value is assigned to a pixel group. The pixel groups obtained thus are stored according to the descending sorting of the pixel difference values. For regeneration of the image the pixel groups with the highest pixel difference values are first loaded. A triangle is formed from the three closest pixel groups. The surfaces of each triangle are filled in a coloring process, calculated from the color values of the pixel groups forming each of the three corners of the triangle.

  • Patent number: 7212662
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the compressed transmission of image data for a three-dimensional representation of scenes and objects. A known method for transmitting video data between an emitter and a receiver according to the method for prioritised pixel transmission, can be advantageously used for transmitting and processing three-dimensional objects and scenes, or the corresponding additional data in that each scene/object is taken from at least two perspectives, one perspective being associated with the actual image array and the at least one other perspective being associated with an offset region of the image array. A larger number of pixel groups are transmitted from the actual image array than from the offset region, the pixels of the missing pixel groups of the offset region being calculated from the already transmitted pixel groups of the image array.

  • Patent number: 7130347
Abstract: A method for compressing and decompressing video data consisting of an array of individual image points (pixels). Each pixel has a pixel value that changes with time and that describes the colour or luminosity information of the pixel. A priority is allocated to each pixel and the pixels are then stored in a priority array according to this priority allocation. The array contains at each moment in time the pixel values that have been classified according to the priority allocation. The pixels and the pixel values that have been used to calculate the priority allocation are transmitted or saved according to the priority allocation. A pixel receives a high priority if the differences in relation to its neighbouring pixel are great. For the reconstruction process, the current pixel values in each case are reproduced on the display.
