Patent number: 7070061Abstract: The invention relates to a system for controlling movements of a load lifting device on a horizontal plane whereby the load lifting device (6) comprises a vertically oriented carrier element (14). The vertical orientation of said carrier element is at least due to gravity when the element is in a resting position. At least one motor device (23a, 23b, 23c) is connected in order to execute said movements. Said movements can be controlled by a force impinging in a substantially horizontal direction relative to the carrier element (14), in particular a force which can be applied and which can be detected by a sensor device (25).Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2000Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Inventor: Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 6974044Abstract: The invention relates to a system for controlling a load lifting device (1) with a controllable drive (2) and a lifting element (5) which is linked with the drive (2) and which is—at least in a non-operational position due to the gravitational force—vertically (Z—Z) aligned. A load receiving element (7) is linked with the lifting element (5). The system further comprises a control circuit for balancing the loads. Said control circuit encompasses a device for producing a path-dependent signal which corresponds to a substantially vertical (Z—Z) movement of the lifting element (5) and which represents the input signal for the control of the drive (2).Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2000Date of Patent: December 13, 2005Inventor: Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 5755135Abstract: A process and device for scanning a moving fiber sliver in a textile machine to measure the thickness of the sliver has a movably mounted scanning element which is pressed against the fiber sliver and has a contact pressure against the sliver. The degree of movement of the movable scanning element indicates changes in the thickness of the moving fiber sliver. An adjusting element is connected to the movably mounted scanning element and maintains a constant contact pressure of the scanning element against the sliver over the entire measuring range of the movable scanning element.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1995Date of Patent: May 26, 1998Assignee: Rieter Ingolstadt Spinnereimaschinenbau AGInventors: Michael Maria Strobel, Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 5575142Abstract: A method of servicing the individual winding stations of a multi-station winding machine, and wherein a plurality of identically equipped service carts is provided in a parking track, and such that upon receiving a call signal, each service cart may be moved from the parking track and along a service track and to the winding station which issued the call. The cart is then adapted to service the winding station, such as by doffing full yarn packages. The cart then may be moved to a transfer position where the full packages are received from the service cart for packing, or transport to a further processing machine.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1994Date of Patent: November 19, 1996Assignee: Barmag AGInventor: Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 4613089Abstract: An apparatus for winding a high speed running yarn is disclosed, and which comprises a freely rotatable spindle for supporting the yarn packages being wound, and a slide which includes an outwardly extending support arm which is mounted above the spindle and which includes the yarn traversing mechanism and the drive roll for rotating the yarn packages. The slide is vertically movable so as to accommodate the build of the yarn packages on the spindle, and a lever arm is provided for supportingly engaging the support arm of the slide at a medial location along its length to support at least a substantial portion of the weight of the slide and thereby minimize the moment forces acting upon the means mounting the slide to the frame of the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1985Date of Patent: September 23, 1986Assignee: Barmag Barmer Maschinenfabrik AGInventor: Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 4561602Abstract: A method and apparatus for continuously removing waste yarn during doffing of a textile yarn processing machine is disclosed, which includes a mobile carriage which is adapted to move to a position adjacent a winding station to be doffed. The carriage mounts a waste yarn take-up spool, and yarn transfer means for moving the advancing yarn from the winding station to the take-up spool. After doffing the full package, the yarn transfer means moves the advancing yarn back to the empty bobbin, and the carriage is then free to move to the next winding station. The waste yarn wound on the take-up spool may be advantageously used for quality control measurements.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1983Date of Patent: December 31, 1985Assignee: Barmag Barmer Maschinenfabrik AktiengesellschaftInventors: Heinz Schippers, Gerd Munnekehoff

Patent number: 4351494Abstract: A bobbin transport apparatus and method is provided which is adapted for use with a textile yarn processing machine having a plurality of yarn winding stations along at least one side thereof. The transport apparatus includes a movable carriage having a mandrel for receiving the full bobbins from the winding station of the processing machine, and quality control means for measuring a number of physical characteristics of each full bobbin received thereon. The quality control measurements may be performed concurrently with the transport of the bobbins to a remote creel, and the measurements are fed to a computer where an immediate determination is made as to whether the measured quality characteristics fall within accepted tolerance limits. The computer may also be employed to calculate additional quality control related characteristics, such as yarn denier and bobbin wind tightness, from the directly measured characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1980Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: Barmag Barmer MaschinenfabrikInventors: Heinz Schippers, Gerd Munnekehoff, Udo Teich

Patent number: 4340187Abstract: A bobbin changing apparatus is provided which is adapted for use in association with a textile yarn processing machine having a plurality of winding stations, and wherein the apparatus comprises a thread operating carriage and a separate doffing carriage, which are mounted for independent movement on a common trackway. The thread operating carriage acts to sever and withdraw the advancing yarn during the bobbin changing operation, and upon an empty bobbin being mounted at the winding station, to then deliver the yarn to the automatic thread-up mechanism on the winding head of the machine. The doffing carriage includes a mandrel for receiving the full bobbins, and since the doffing carriage is independent of the thread operating carriage, the doffing carriage is free to immediately move from the winding station to deliver the full bobbin to a separate creel, or to perform a quality control analysis of the full bobbin.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1980Date of Patent: July 20, 1982Assignee: Barmag Barmer MaschinenfabrikInventors: Heinz Schippers, Norbert Hufer, Gerd Munnekehoff, Udo Teich

Patent number: 4301648Abstract: A yarn friction false twist apparatus is provided which comprises three sets of friction discs mounted on rotatable spindles in a triangular arrangement, and which includes a plurality of yarn deflecting arms for moving the yarn from an inoperative laterally spaced position where thread-up may be effected, to an operative path of travel disposed centrally between the sets of discs and wherein twist is imparted to the yarn by contact with the rotating discs. The yarn deflecting arms are mounted on a pivotally mounted door which also serves to protectively cover the sets of discs during operation. Each of the yarn deflecting arms has an open yarn guide at the forward free end thereof, with the length of the arm being such that the guide is free of contact with the yarn during the twisting operation.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1980Date of Patent: November 24, 1981Assignee: Barmag Barmer Maschinenfabrik AGInventors: Frank Adenheuer, Gerd Munnekehoff
