  • Patent number: 4853087
Abstract: A process for producing a filter with multiple folds from an aqueous fiber mixture that is applied to a porous form, in which a paper-like filter mat is produced on the form under the action of pressure, and it is carried out without mechanical deformation of the rough casting. This is achieved pursuant to the invention by the fact that the aqueous fiber mixture is deposited on the porous form having the contour of the filter, from loading chambers separate from one another, and the filter is built up of adjacent fold sections in layers on the form by separate introduction of the fiber mixture to the fold sections connected to one another.

  • Patent number: 4832018
Abstract: A filter case for respiratory masks, in which filter inserts are held replaceably by a holder engaging in the case wall, is improved so that filter inserts of different structural heights and in various combinations can be fastened in it with the same holder. For this purpose, the holder includes a sleeve open at both ends surrounding a filter insert that can be fastened to the inner wall of the filter case and can be moved axially by a fastener necking inward at one of the end circumference of the sleeve. A respirator mask filter holder, comprising a casing having a wall with a tubular side, a sleeve 2 engaged in said tubular said 1 and being axially moveable therein, a filter cover having replaceable filters therein and having a projecting lip, and a fastener collar carried by said sleeve and engageable with said lip upon with said lip upon inward movement of said sleeve to position said filter case against said end wall.

  • Patent number: 4438966
Abstract: A lock is disclosed for a carrying case of an emergency respirator which case includes a bottom container part and a cover member held to the container part. At least one strap member is connected to the container part and the cover member to hold them together. The strap includes two strap ends which are held together by a toggle clamp which includes a holding member connected to one strap end which pivotally carries a lever, and a hook end of the other strap end which is engaged with the lever. A sealing piece having a recess is provided which slides over an end of the lever to hold the lever in a closed position. The hook end of the strap includes an opening which receives a protrusion extending from a portion of the sealing piece.

  • Patent number: 4277443
Abstract: A cartridge for respirators for purifying expiratory air contains a chemical arranged in layers separated by partitions which are connected to a perforated central tube. The partition cooperates with a member spaced from a wall of the cartridge and a guide element disposed on the partition to provide alternate passage of the air into the layers.

  • Patent number: 4246229
Abstract: A starting device for a chemical oxygen generator comprises a casing which has a chemical oxygen generating material therein and with a first wall above the material with an opening bounded by an annular sealing face and an opposite second wall below the oxygen generating material with at least one passage for the passage therethrough of an oxygen which is generated. A liquid ampule is disposed above the oxygen generating material and a thrust bolt is mounted in the opening of the casing over the liquid ampule and is movable when actuated from a starting position overlying and spaced from the ampule to an actuated position in which it penetrates and breaks the ampule. The coil spring is associated with the bolt and it biases the bolt in a direction toward the ampule. A sealing ring is disposed around the bolt and is located initially above the opening and moves with the bolt to engage into the opening and seal the top of the container when the bolt is in the actuated position.

  • Patent number: 4154236
Abstract: An oxygen respirator, comprises a portable container having a cartridge chamber with a cylindrical oxygen-supplying chemical cartridge centrally located in the chamber and with a replaceable CO.sub.2 -absorbing cartridge concentrically surrounding the chemical cartridge. The cartridge chamber is closed by a baseplate which includes a mouthpiece connection defining a mouthpiece passage for respirator air for the user which connects downwardly into the chamber through an associated check valve for flow downwardly through the annular CO.sub.2 -absorbing cartridge and upwardly through the oxygen-supplying chemical cartridge which, after initial ignition, supplies oxygen to the respiratory air which is circulated back to the mouthpiece passage either directly or through a breathing bag which is mounted in the respiratory air breathing passages.
