  • Patent number: 4818160
Abstract: A machining device includes a toolholder (24) displaceable in three coordinates (X, Y, Z) perpendicular with respect to one another by means of three linear guides (23, 15, 28) and associated drives (25, 19, 30) on a frame of the device. The device is characterized in that the frame (1, 8) of the device is of an essentially U-shaped configuration and that the toolholder (24), retained in a shape-mating fashion, is displaceable on a carriage (23) extending transversely to the legs (1a, 8a; 1b, 8b) in the first coordinate direction (X) and the third coordinate direction (Z). This carriage, retained in a shape-mating fashion with its ends (22) on the legs (1a, 8a; 1b, 8b) of the frame, is displaceable along the legs in the second coordinate direction (Y). Preferably, the frame of the device consists of a U-shaped supporting stand (1) and of a rotary stand (8) having a U-shape and being swivelable thereon, the toolholder (24) being displaceable on the rotary stand in the three coordinate directions.

  • Patent number: 4764063
Abstract: A portable apparatus including a four-legged support that is equipped with adjustable support bases. The apparatus also includes a centering mechanism that includes rotatable eccentric discs, and a modified rotating unit, the rotating arm of which is provided with an adjustment mechanism that is equipped with a sensing device, and with a tracing device that is equipped with various copying templates and is coupled with a machining or processing tool for machining the rim of a flanged, flat, dished semi-ellipsoidal head in preparation for a welding seam connection with a tubular member to produce a circular cylindrical reaction vessel. The apparatus is installed in the upwardly open head coaxial to the axis of the latter. During each rotation of the rotating arm, the machining tool experiences a feed movement and an adjustment movement that is corrected for the geometry of the workpiece or head.

  • Patent number: 4694893
Abstract: A unit for guiding the flow of cold gas from the annular chamber that is disposed between the pressure tank wall and the steam generator wall to the circulation fan of a steam generator of a high-temperature reactor, with hot gas being adapted to be supplied to the steam generator wall via a hot gas guide mechanism. The cold gas flows into a riser through a plurality of cold gas channels that pass through the upper end of compensating tube bundles that are associated with the steam generator wall. From the riser, the cold gas is supplied to the circulation fan, with the riser being disposed in that portion of the hot gas guide mechanism that extends parallel to the central axis of the pressure tank.

  • Patent number: 4595048
Abstract: The transfer of impact force from a mechanically, pneumatically, or hydraulically driven knock or impact-beating device, which is mounted externally of a container that receives dust-laden, hot, and/or contaminated gases, onto bearing or cooling surfaces which are installed within the container, and which are to be intermittently cleaned. The impact force is indirectly transferred via the container wall to a striker which is pressed against an inner wall of the container by a resilient power accumulator. Preferably, the striker has a mass equal to that of the knocking element of the knock or impact-beating device. Pursuant to one embodiment of a device for effecting transfer of the impact force, the striker disposed within the container is guided within a connector-like inlet of the container body. The cover part associated with the inlet has a central bore and, on that side thereof facing the interior of the container, has a projection which coaxially surrounds the bore.

  • Patent number: 4570813
Abstract: A pressure vessel including a cylindrical vessel shell body, a bottom, and a cover, which are composed of cast elements and are clamped together or restrained by axial prestressing tendons located in channels which are distributed over the periphery of the cylindrical shell body, have axes which are parallel to the axis of the vessel, and by tangential prestressing cables located in annular channels on the outer surface of the vessel. The pressure tank also includes a steel liner which is anchored by means of a special gun welded or bolt connection directly to the inner side of the tank shell body. This tank shell body includes at least two cylindrical shells which are formed of cast elements and are successively arranged when viewed in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 4238291
Abstract: For coupling pipelines in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel with a core flood line formed of a first line section extending sealingly through a housing wall of the reactor pressure vessel and secured thereto, and a second line section disposed in the interior of the pressure vessel and couplable sealingly to the first line section, the second line section extending through a cover of a core container and terminating in the core container, a device includes means for forming the second line section and the core container cover into a structural unit so that the second line section together with the core container cover is liftable out of and insertable into the pressure vessel upon opening the latter for selectively inspecting, servicing and both inspecting and servicing the same, the first and second line sections having a mutual coupling location, means defining coaxial sealing surfaces disposed at the mutual coupling location for holding the first and second line sections in mutual engagement, the coaxial s
