  • Patent number: 5800215
Abstract: A distribution block for telecommunication and data transmission applications, in particular for the main distribution frame of telephone and data lines. The distribution block includes insulation displacement contact elements for the connection of the subscriber cables as well as of the exchange office cables. One-piece contact springs are disposed in the interior of the modular-design distribution block. A mounting bracket, in particular for receiving distribution blocks is provided including a U-shaped tub. A device for guiding cables is rotatably moved in a partial section, and with cable guide portions. A reduction in size, an improvement of connection tasks, the individual protection of double wires, a reliable grounding and a cable guiding which is substantially resistant to buckling and bending are secured, is achieved by that one-piece contact springs disposed in the interior of distribution block.

  • Patent number: 5574614
Abstract: An over-voltage protection plug for telecommunication installations, including a housing with a printed-circuit board, a voltagesurge suppressor, a slider, a spring, an earth plate, a signalling element. Reliable protection against voltage surges is provided, wherein the solder position is loaded to a minimum extent only. The plug is composed of few parts only and further permits automated manufacture at low cost, and which clearly shows the tripped condition at the outside. The slider is pre-loaded over a support face and over an edge at the inner housing wall in the housing by the spring. A shaped part of solder material is loaded to a minimum extent only by the spring force (pressure force) of the slider.

  • Patent number: 5421532
Abstract: A device for storing the single and bundle wires (16 or 5, respectively) of glass-fiber cables in distributor devices of telecommunication and data systems, comprising a casing (24), at least one cassette box pivotably mounted in the casing, and a splice cassette (10) mounted therein, is intended to be improved such that with a simplified construction of the cassette box and of the splice cassette (10), a break-proof support of the single and bundle wires (16 or 5, respectively) is permitted. For this purpose the cassette box is formed of a support plate cassette (10) and provided with a slot (12) for passing the single and/or bundle wires (16,5) through and with members located on both side faces for supporting the single or bundle wires (16, 5) respectively.

  • Patent number: 5289558
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching assembly for glass fiber cables of the telecommunication and data technology field, and in particular to a glass fiber cable partitioning and terminal rack. The rack 1 includes a frame 3 supported by the rack 1. The frame 3 includes a jumper field 29 for glass fiber cable cores 8, 9 and at least one magazine 16 or 17 provided with slide-in openings 18 for splice cassettes 19. In similar prior art switching assemblies of this type, there is poor accessibility to the incoming and outgoing glass fiber cable cores 8, 9, thereby a high risk of breakage occurs during assembly, in particular when splicing. For avoiding these disadvantages, the invention provides that the frame 3 is supported at the rack 1 pivotally about a vertical axis 26, and that at the frame 3, a jumper field 29 with a patch field 6, 7 for the incoming and outgoing glass fiber cable cores 8,9 is accessible from the front 4 and from the back 5 of the frame 3.

  • Patent number: 4672782
Abstract: A high, self-supporting smokestack or tower having a structure constructed by stacking precast reinforced concrete sections one upon the other, the cross-sectional area of the structure being larger at the bottom than at the top and concentrated reinforcement being provided along the length of the structure to bear the horizontal forces acting upon the smokestack or tower. The structure exhibits ribs provided with concentrated reinforcement and extending longitudinally on the outside of the structure at least along its lower portion, the radial extent of these ribs increasing from the top to the bottom at least so as to correspond essentially to the bending moment progression resulting from the horizontal stress. A mould device for producing precast reinforced concrete parts for such smokestacks or towers, in which mould sections are provided which are radially adjustable for fashioning the front surfaces of the ribs.

  • Patent number: 4036561
Abstract: The primary coolant pump of a nuclear reactor, which is usually driven electrically, can be accelerated in the event of a line break by the escaping coolant to such an extent that its mechanical strength is in jeopardy due to overspeed. According to the invention, a brake and/or shut-off means, which can be controlled by the pump pressure differential or the pump speed, are associated with the pump. The invention is of interest particularly for pressurized-water reactors.
