  • Patent number: 10307802
Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety workbench, in which, for the purpose of calibrating the safety workbench before beginning regular operation, a device control unit is implemented to cause measurement means to ascertain an actual measured value, which is representative of a flow velocity achieved at normal fan performance, an analysis unit is implemented to compare the actual measured value to a starting setpoint value and, in case of an established deviation, to correct a stored starting limiting value in accordance with the deviation, or means for controlling the fan are implemented to operate the fan at a fan performance corresponding to a stored starting limiting value, a device control unit is implemented to cause the measurement means to ascertain an actual limiting measured value which is representative of the flow velocity achieved at the set fan performance, and a storage unit is implemented to store the actual limiting measured value as the corrected limiting value.

  • Publication number: 20080113599
Abstract: A safety workbench includes a work chamber enclosed by a housing, including a work opening located in the housing front side and settable using an adjustable front pane to let in an external air flow flowing into the work chamber, and including at least one fan for delivering the external air flow into the safety workbench. To improve the working conditions of the safety workbench for operators while simultaneously ensuring sufficient personal protection at all times, a regulating unit and/or a control unit is provided, by which the delivery output of the at least one fan can be regulated and/or controlled as a function of the front pane position.

  • Patent number: 7053364
Abstract: The invention pertains to a safety cabinet with an interior enclosed by a housing and with a housing front comprising a working opening that can be closed with a height-adjustable front pane. The safety cabinet exhibits a fixed operating unit for controlling device functions that is integrated into the housing. A remote operating unit for controlling device functions that is spatially separated from the safety cabinet is also present. A receiver for receiving control signals emitted by the remote operating unit is also integrated into the safety cabinet. The remote operating unit not connected to the housing of the safety cabinet can be taken into the interior of the safety cabinet and removed from it by the operator without the necessity for the hands to touch nonsterile areas to operate the safety cabinet. Thereby the danger of contamination by entraining contaminants from the exterior into the interior is markedly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060063122
Abstract: The present invention relates to a heating device for samples in the field of life sciences having at least one cassette with horizontally arranged storage compartments for storing sample carriers in which gas is guided onto the cassette for heating the samples. The present invention also relates to a process for heating such samples that are arranged inside a storage room and in which gas is guided onto the samples for heating them. The heating device comprises a housing with a storage room arranged therein that is designed for the feed and discharge of gases and for the storage of the cassettes. Furthermore, a gas-recirculating device is also provided that is used for recirculating the ambient gas of the storage room. The advantage of this invention is that the samples are heated quickly, evenly, and gently.

  • Patent number: 6845343
Abstract: The invention pertains to a safety cabinet with a workspace that is surrounded by a housing and is accessible on the front side of the housing through a work opening that can be closed with an adjustable front window. The safety cabinet comprises a safety monitoring system for monitoring various device functions. The safety monitoring system also contains a processor that computationally links measuring data determined during the monitoring of predetermined device functions and/or device parameters stored in the safety monitoring system in such a way that a characteristic number is obtained as the result of the calculation, wherein said characteristic number makes it possible to deduce the entire status of the safety cabinet.
