  • Patent number: 5069027
Abstract: In the case of a tangential belt drive for spinning or twisting machines having several rotating elements driven by a common tangential belt and having belt guiding members, which can be adjusted for correcting the moving direction of the tangential belt, it is provided that, along the tangential belt, several sensors are arranged which sense deviations from a given moving direction, and in the control elements are assigned to at least some of the belt guiding members, these control elements being controlled by an analyzing device which processes the signals of the sensors.

  • Patent number: 4962633
Abstract: In the case of a tangential belt drive for a plurality of spindles of a spinning or twisting machine, which are arranged in a row, it is provided that, in each case, one pressure roller is arranged in the center between two spindles and deflects the tangential belt in the direction toward these two spindles. The pressure rollers are held in such a manner that when the pressure roller is in the operative position, they can be moved toward each of the two spindles assigned to them, approximately in parallel to the direction of the course of the tangential belt.

  • Patent number: 4858275
Abstract: In the case of a mounting or ring fitting for an opening roller for open end spinning machines and the like, it is provided that the tooth tips are chamfered and form cutting edges which extend essentially in the travel direction of the teeth.

  • Patent number: 4538328
Abstract: A device for interrupting feed of a roving on a drawing frame, having a feed roller pair, e.g., a powered bottom roller and a top roller tensioned against the bottom roller by springs, includes a clamp for lifting the top roller away from the bottom roller and clamping the roving against the circumference of the top roller. The clamp is disposed on a lever pivotable about an axis parallel to the axes of the feed roller pair and is shiftable with respect to a clamping edge, in the feed direction of the roving, toward the circumference of the top roller. The clamp includes a tongue which initially engages in the nip between the rollers and a portion having a toothed profile which cooperates with the clamping edge by engaging the roving.

  • Patent number: 4462558
Abstract: A yarn package and a method and apparatus for producing the same are disclosed, and wherein the package is composed of a yarn wound in layers of decreasing axial length so as to define a central cylindrical portion and opposite end portions. In order to protectively shield the exposed ends of the yarn layers within at least one of the tapered end portions, the outermost layer is extended so as to overlie and entirely cover such one tapered end portion. In addition, selected intermediate yarn layers may be extended axially a distance sufficient to overlie and cover essentially all of the underlying layers on such one end portion to protect and stabilize the underlying yarn layers.

  • Patent number: 4432195
Abstract: A device is provided for interrupting the feed of a roving to drawing frames on ring spinning machines in response to thread breakage at a respective spinning unit. The device includes a clamping segment annularly clamped about a lower drawing roll and having abuttments for selectively lifting the upper drawing roll away from the lower roll to interrupt the feed of roving in response to movement of the clamping segment to an interrupting position. To control the clamping segment, a locking detent lever is provided which is spring-loaded into a locking position engaging the clamping segment and movable to an unlocking position in response to an electrical drive mechanism which, in turn, is controlled by a thread end break detection device. In particularly preferred embodiments, a capacitor is used to energize the drive means to unlock the lever, the capacitor being charged during normal spinning operation and discharged for a preset time period during the unlocking operation.

  • Patent number: 4059947
Abstract: In order to permit an open-end spinning unit to be opened with a relatively small amount of force, there is a swivel lid which covers all parts, without these parts being attached thereto. However in order to enable the opener roller to be stopped when the open-end spinning unit is opened, the opener roller is located in a swivel housing, which swivels when the lid is opened, thereby interrupting the drive of the opener roller, as a wharve of the opener roller lifts away from a tangential belt.
