  • Patent number: 8414250
Abstract: A machine train includes a drive unit, preferably a steam turbine with axial exhaust flow, a geared turbine machine, and an additional compressor. The geared turbine machine has an integrated gear train with a drive pinion for driving turbine machine rotors via a large gear, and an output pinion of a rotational speed reduction power gear for driving the additional compressor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 28, 2009
Date of Patent: April 9, 2013
Assignee: MAN Diesel & Turbo SE
Inventors: Ole Hansen, Arindam Khan, Klaus-Dieter Mohr, Gerd-Ulrich Woelk, Hans-Otto Jeske

  • Patent number: 7269956
Abstract: An intercooler (3) is provided with heat exchanger surfaces (6) and is arranged in the gas stream between two compressors (1, 2) or two compressor stage groups for compressing a gas. An aftercooler (5) is also provided with heat exchanger surfaces (7) and is arranged after the second compressor (2). To utilize the waste heat generated in the coolers (3, 5), the heat exchanger surfaces (6, 7) of the intercooler (3) and of the aftercooler (5) are integrated in a steam generator (9) in such a way that the heat exchanger surfaces are connected with the feedwater pump (40, 59) of the steam generator (9).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 2004
Date of Patent: September 18, 2007
    Assignee: MAN TURBO AG
Inventors: Bernd Gericke, Gerd-Ulrich Woelk, Pavle Kuzmanovski

  • Patent number: 6099198
Abstract: A axially split casing with flange connection of two casing halves, wherein the casing upper part (1) is bolted to the casing lower part (2) with split line bolts (5) on the circumference of the axial split line flange (3). An axially divided casing extension (9), which is surrounded by a coaxially arranged axially unsplit ring (11) on the outer circumference, is arranged at one or both end faces (4) of the casing upper part (1) and the casing lower part (2) in the area of the casing axis (8). Wedge-shaped tensioning elements (14), which are tensioned by means of tension bolts (15) between surfaces (13) arranged in the ring (11) and countersurfaces (12) of the collar (10) of the casing extension (9), may be additionally arranged between surfaces (12, 13) arranged in the ring (11) and the collar (10) of the casing extension (9).
