  • Patent number: 6100880
Abstract: An arrangement such as a consumption meter has an external power supply. The is provided with an electronic display and/or a communication interface for reading and/or writing a content of a memory. When the external supply voltage is absent at least the electronic display and/or the communication interface as well as an electronic write/read device of the memory are supplied with energy from the exterior by a contact-less power supply, for example by means of a solar cell. Thus the content of the memory can be read and/or parametrised without the presence of a mains voltage, without a battery, without troublesome connections for an external voltage source and for example in the case of electricity meters without destroying security seals.

  • Patent number: 5489153
Abstract: A static mixer distributes substances introduced into a flow duct as homogeneously as possible in a flow medium. The intention is to achieve complete intermixing over the shortest possible path distance. The static mixer includes a multiplicity of deflection elements which are small in relation to the diameter of the flow duct. The deflection elements are disposed in mutually parallel rows aligned transversely to the axis of symmetry of the flow duct. The deflection elements of each row are inclined equidirectionally in a direction parallel to the row and in counterdirection to the deflection elements of the respectively directly adjacent rows. The static mixer can be used for gaseous and liquid media.

  • Patent number: 5449499
Abstract: An apparatus for deflecting a flow of a fluid from an inflow conduit, through a deflection zone and into at least one outlet conduit having an axis and being bent by a deflection angle relative to the inflow conduit, includes components being disposed in the deflection zone and largely avoiding a flow through an adjacent two of the components. Each of the components has a main axis forming an acute angle with the axis of the outflow conduit, is elongated along the main axis, has a first end facing toward the outflow conduit and a second end opposite to the first end, along the main axis, and protrudes into the deflection zone with the first end. The fluid may be a gas, such as flue gas and a deNO.sub.x catalytic converter may be disposed downstream of the outflow conduit.

  • Patent number: 5435976
Abstract: A device for introducing a liquid or gaseous reactant into a gas flow includes at least one outlet opening for the emergence of a reactant flow in a direction counter to a gas flow direction. At least one baffle is disposed upstream of the at least one outlet opening, as seen in the gas flow direction, for splitting the reactant flow emerging from the at least one outlet opening into at least two partial flows. At least one mixing element is preferably downstream of the at least one outlet opening, as seen in the gas flow direction, for turbulent mixing of the reactant and/or the gas flow.
