  • Patent number: 4947439
Abstract: A hearing aid having a battery compartment pivotally attached thereto with a recess in the compartment for retaining therein a battery and a spring contact arrangement for coupling the battery to electrical components of the hearing aid, wherein a first spring contact engages a casing of the battery in abutting relationship, a second spring contact engages a face of the battery in abutting relationship only upon closure of the compartment, and an insulated spring arm engages the face of the battery to prevent inadvertent contacting of the second spring contact and the battery face unless the compartment is closed, the second spring contact being held in a preadjusted or prealigned position by an appropriate securing element.

  • Patent number: 4941180
Abstract: A miniature hearing aid has data storage components, amplification components, and a hinged battery compartment in which a battery may be disposed. A latch, in conjunction with a switch, allows for a selection of the operational mode of the hearing aid by positioning the hinged battery compartment at various angles to the hearing aid housing. The battery is held firmly in the battery compartment in the various switching positions by a contact spring, which also serves as the electrical connection between the battery and various electrical component groups housed within the hearing aid. The battery can be disconnected from the amplification components while remaining connected to the data storage components.

  • Patent number: 4831655
Abstract: The housing of a behind-the-ear hearing aid comprises a hinged cover. The hinge is preferably formed by a U-shaped wire spring, that is fastened to the cover and which is resilient at least at its ends. The cover is attached to the housing by inserting the tips of the spring into cavities disposed in the hearing aid housing.

  • Patent number: 4638125
Abstract: A hearing aid has a behind-the-ear housing containing a microphone, an amplifier, a current source and an ear phone, and a group of regulators for controlling various operating characteristics and an acoustic coil. The regulators and the acoustic coil are insertable through an opening in the rear of the housing and are combined in a single unitary unit which can be attached to the amplifier. The precise orientation of the regulators and the coil with respect to each other is thus always the same and can be easily achieved during assembly. The necessary electrical separation between the parts is also guaranteed.

  • Patent number: 4354065
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a two-part housing for the microphone, ear piece receiver and battery, also serves to contain an amplifier. The disclosure provides a fastening of the amplifier which is effective in a simple manner and without additional space requirements in that the elements of the amplifier are arranged distributed on a plurality of plates which rest against spacer support projections at the walls of the housing. The disclosed supporting projections, which hold the plates of the amplifier when the housing is put together, are particularly suited for use in miniature hearing aids which are worn on the head.
