  • Patent number: 6837340
Abstract: The invention provides a compensation weight for an elevator system, in the form of an extended cable. The compensation weight comprises at least one carrying organ, at least one weighted element, wherein the weighted element contains a mixture of plastic material and at least one of a pulverized metal salt and a pulverized metal chalcogenide with a density about or greater than 2.3 g/cm3, and an extended, flexible sheath. According to another aspect, the invention provides a compensation weight for an elevator system, in the form of a flat cable. It comprises one or more weighted elements, one or more lengthily extended carrying organ, a flexible sheath, and a plurality of hollow spaces encased by said sheath for the reception of the one or more weighted elements and the one or more lengthily extended carrying organ. The at least one carrying organ and at least one weighted element are designed to be separately and respectively in different hollow spaces encased by the sheath.

  • Patent number: 5849315
Abstract: An emulsifier composition for skin care formulations, which is present in the form of a bilayer lamellar gel network, which is stable up to a temperature of about 50.degree. C., comprising by weight, about 3-40% of a high HLB swellant which is lecithin, and a blend of low HLB emulsifier gellants, to 100%, the blend of gellants having a resultant HLB of about 1.5 to about 5. In a skin care formulation, the lamellar gel network forms a discrete third phase between the oil and water phases.

  • Patent number: 4987832
Abstract: In order to improve the attack capabilities against armor or combat vehicles and combat aircraft, projectiles (2) must be detonated at a small distance ahead of the impact point on the target (1). This distance cannot be determined mechanically or even with the customary pulse time-of-flight method. In order to insure the resolution of such distances, lying mostly in the region from 0.5 to 2.0 meters, the projectile is equipped with a laser range finder (3) that operates on the sampling principle and permits exact measurements. The range finder may be used as a distance detector or as an approach sensor. In the latter case, the most favorable point of time is determined in that the sampling pulses are used to set several distance gates by means of which additional information for target analysis can be obtained.
