  • Patent number: 7156224
Abstract: A circulating mechanism includes a moving member, e.g. a chain or a belt, which travels along a circulating path and is looped about at least one deflecting member for reversing a travel direction of the moving member. Disposed in a section of the circulating path is a guide assembly for guiding the moving member. A magnetic field generating device is provided for applying a magnetic force upon the moving member at least in an area of the guide assembly so as to draw the moving member against the guide assembly and thereby enhance the travel behavior of the moving member.

  • Patent number: 7152503
Abstract: A device for compensating a torque produced on a movable axle in a machine tool or production machine by a gyrostatic effect includes a rotating useful machine system attached to the movable axle and producing a useful angular momentum, and a rotating machine counter-system attached to the axle and producing a counter angular momentum. The magnitude of the counter angular momentum is substantially identical to the magnitude of the useful angular momentum. The useful torque produced by a movement of the rotating useful machine system through a temporal change of the useful angular momentum is at least partially compensated by a counter-torque produced by a temporal change of the counter angular momentum. This arrangement represents a simple device for compensating a torque produced by the gyrostatic effect on a movable axle of machine tolls and production machines.

  • Patent number: 6886436
Abstract: A device and a method are disclosed for attenuating a chatter oscillation in a processing machine, for example a cutting machine, such as a lathe. The machine includes at least one feed system with a primary section and a secondary section driven by a linear motor which can be powered via a converter. The device has a magnetic field control to control an in-phase component (d-component) of the magnetic field which produces the attractive force between of the primary section and the secondary section. An actual signal that is proportional to the chatter oscillation is generated and compared with a predetermined setpoint for a chatter oscillation. The comparison produces a control variable which is applied as a current setpoint to a field control that controls the current of the linear motor. This sufficiently attenuates chatter oscillations so that a reduction of the cutting depth is no longer required.

  • Patent number: 6452355
Abstract: The present invention is a control method and numerical control for the vibration-reduced acceleration of a movable machine element of a numerically controlled industrial processing machine, in which a path of movement of the machine or machine element is broken down into directly successive interpolatable movement sections In the interpolation, resultant acceleration profiles which lie in a range close to a critical natural frequency of the machine or machine element are carried out with a reduced acceleration. By this method, intervention is made only in critical ranges of the acceleration profile, uncritical ranges remain uninfluenced, as a result of which drastic time losses during positioning can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 4746874
Abstract: In a circuit layout for signal amplification with the aid of a differential amplifier and signal coupling via a first capacitor, it is proposed, in order to prevent unacceptable operating point displacements into the non-linear area of the amplifier layout in the event of temporarily interfering high-level signals, that one input of the differential amplifier connected to the signal source via the first capacitor be connected via a first resistor, and the other input via a second resistor, jointly via an electronic switch controllable by a comparator, to reference potential. A reference voltage source is connected to one input of the comparator, and the signal source to the other input of the comparator via an RC element, whose time constant is of the same order of magnitude as the time constant formed by the first capacitor and the first resistor.

  • Patent number: 4207493
Abstract: The high voltage terminal of the ultor capacitance of a cathode ray tube is coupled to an electron gun structure. The ultor return terminal which typically comprises an outer conductive coating of the cathode ray tube envelope is coupled to the ground return base pin of the cathode ray tube. The ground termination for electrical components and the chassis is also coupled to the ground return base pin. During arc-over, the cathode ray tube ultor capacitance discharges through the ground return base pin. Arc-over current oscillations flow in the chassis and electrical component circuitry by means of stray capacitive coupling to the ultor return terminal. A resistor is coupled to the chassis and to the ultor return terminal for damping arc-over current oscillation in the chassis and in the component circuitry.

  • Patent number: 4177393
Abstract: A drive circuit for a television deflection output transistor includes a drive transformer, the secondary winding of which is coupled across the base-emitter junction of the output transistor. A first end of the primary winding of the drive transformer is coupled to a driver transistor which is switched at the deflection rate. The second end of the primary winding is coupled to a first capacitor charged through a first charging resistance from a first voltage source, the magnitude of which is determined by the charge storage in the base region of the output transistor, and its current gain. The second end of the primary winding is also coupled through a diode to a second capacitor charged through a second resistor from a second voltage source. The magnitude of the second voltage source is selected at a value significantly lower than that of the first voltage source, which value is established based upon considerations of the forward base-emitter drive current required by the output transistor.
