  • Publication number: 20070013112
Abstract: To facilitate a trouble-free charging of scrap metal having differing constitutions, such as light and heavy scrap metal, from a lower discharge opening of a shaft-shaped charging device or a charging stock preheater (1) into a melting vessel by a pusher (13), the lateral surfaces of the pusher (13) are formed so as to converge from the upper side to the lower side and the actuating device (2) of the pusher (13) is pivotably supported in a frame structure (3) about a horizontal axis. In addition, the upper boundary of the discharge opening for the charging stock from the shaft (2) is preferably formed by a horizontal, rotatably supported roller (26), more preferably with engaging elements (30) distributed around the circumferential surface. Sections of the charging device that are severely mechanically stressed are preferably formed by steel billet sections connected to form a structural unit.

  • Publication number: 20060059060
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for executing services in an advanced planning environment. The services may comprise planning service that are executed using one or more objects stored in a database. Further, a planning profile may be provided, the planning profile including at least one process block containing a list of planning services to be executed. A method for executing services may include reading the planning profile, including a selection profile of the at least one process block of the planning profile. The selection profile may comprise selection criteria for specifying which of the objects stored in the database are required for processing the at least one process block. Further, the method may include accessing the objects stored in the database based on the selection criteria of the selection profile, and executing each planning service in accordance with the list of planning services and the objects accessed from the database.

  • Publication number: 20050231865
Abstract: Method for protection of a switching device controlled by a control unit, through which an electric drive can be disengaged during the period of an overvoltage surge caused by a load dump in the electrical system of a vehicle, in which the drive current rises to a maximum value in a first slot within the duration of the overvoltage surge and drops in the second slot connected to the first time slot, with the following process steps: Recognition of a load dump by recording a limit voltage value in the electrical system by the control unit, Disengagement of the electric drive in the event of a load dump at a switching time stipulated by the control unit, which lies after the first time slot.

  • Publication number: 20050080434
Abstract: Described herein is a device that may be used in various applications, such as medical applications, and, particularly in laparoscopic procedures, to manipulate and/or introduce objects within or into the body. In one embodiment of the invention, a device includes a cannula with a handle that remains exterior to the body and an extendable member on a portion of the device that may be inserted into the body. The handle, which controls the extendable member, may be moved in an axial direction to extend or retract the extendable member from the interior of the cannula. It may also be rotated to swivel the extendable member. Furthermore, the extendable member may include at least one hole that may be used to, for example, grasp a surgical suture or suture needle. Thus, the device may be used to introduce such objects into the body and manipulate them therein.

  • Patent number: 6826801
Abstract: A hinge is disclosed between the side piece (2) and the endpiece (1) of the frame of a pair of glasses. The side piece and the endpiece are parts (1, 2) made of wire, of which one bears a hinge body (6) which serves as a hinge axis with a coaxial, peripheral groove (7) for receiving a bearing eye which consists of the bent end (3) of the wire of which the other part (1) is made. The bearing eye forms a peripherally open eyelet (8) which can elastically engage the peripheral groove (7). In order to achieve advantageous manufacturing conditions, the wire of which the part (2) that bears the hinge body (6) is made has a bent, hairpin-shaped end piece (3) which form-fittingly holds between its branches (4, 5) the hinge body (6) on both sides of the peripheral groove (7). The crosspiece (10) located between the two branches (4, 5) of the end piece (3) covers the outer side of the eyelet (8), which forms the bearing eye of the other part (1).

  • Publication number: 20040226402
Abstract: Cylinders and cylinder liners suitable for use in reciprocating piston engines, compressors and pumps may include a first cylinder surface region (5) having a first surface roughness (Ra1) and a second cylinder surface region (6) having a second surface roughness (Ra2). The first cylinder surface region (5) comprises at least the contact area between the reciprocating piston (2) and a cylinder wall (1) from the top dead point (TDP) of the reciprocating piston (2) towards the bottom dead point (BDP). The second cylinder surface region (6) may be adjacent to the first cylinder surface region (5) and preferably includes a portion of the cylinder wall (1) that contacts the reciprocating piston (2) when the reciprocating piston is disposed at its bottom dead point (BDP). The first surface roughness is preferably smaller or less than the second surface roughness.

  • Patent number: 6711779
Abstract: A hinge for spectacles comprising a joint body (5) used as a hinge axle, which body forms a coaxial circumferential groove (7) for receiving an eye (9) of a side jaw (8) and is rotationally rigidly held between two legs (4) of an end (2) of a side, which legs are mutually connected at least at one end and extend on either side of the circumferential groove (7). In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the joint body (5) consists of two preferably disk-like parts (6) whose abutting surfaces (s) extend transversally to the hinge axle in the zone of the circumferential groove (7).
