Abstract: A method for grading a household appliance includes determining lifecycle parameters for a plurality of household appliances, sorting the appliances into a directed graph with the lifecycle parameters as a sorting criterion such that along a path through the graph, a Pareto improvement lies between successive appliances, determining a lifecycle rank for each appliance according to a position of the appliance in a path in the graph, and determining a grade for the appliance based on its lifecycle rank. A device and a system for grading a household appliance, are also provided.

Abstract: A method is provided for simplifying a takeover of control of a motor vehicle by a vehicle-external operator. In the method, images of the surroundings of the vehicle are captured from the vehicle and semantically segmented. Errors in a corresponding segmentation model are predicted on the basis of at least one such image each. If a corresponding error prediction triggering a request for the takeover of control is made, an image-based visualization is automatically generated in which exactly one region corresponding to the error prediction is visually highlighted. The request and the visualization are then sent to the vehicle-external operator.

Abstract: A ventilation device for the discharge pipe for removing a flow medium pumped to a household appliance. A pipe ventilation valve is connected to the discharge pipe by a channel and comprises a valve body disposed in a float chamber filled with a working medium which is separated from the flow medium and actuates the valve body. The valve body is actuated by transmitting a pneumatic force between the flowing medium and the working medium of the float chamber or between the flowing medium and a sealing surface adjacent to the valve body by means of a pressure medium which is separated from the flowing medium and is enclosed in the channel. The inventive pipe ventilation device makes it possible to avoid a direct contact between the valve body of the pipe ventilation valve and the flowing medium, thereby preventing the valve body from being soiled.

Abstract: A steering knuckle structure that makes it possible to produce a light weight steering knuckle from a light metal alloy with a high degree of rigidity. A bracket for fixing a telescopic strut is provided at a vertically extending bracket wall which is supported by a bridge and wherein the area between the bridge and the bracket wall is open in a peripheral direction of the hub of the steering knuckle.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of pure magnesium oxide, especially suitable for the preparation of refractory products, from magnesium silicate and magnesium hydrosilicate materials such as olivine, serpentine, garnierite, or the like, the starting material being decomposed (digested) with hydrochloric acid, the residues being separated from the decomposition slurry and the sesquioxides to be regarded as contaminants and other contaminants being precipitated from the crude brine thus obtained by the addition of crude serpentine as a pH increasing substance, the precipitates being separated and the magnesium chloride solution thus obtained being subjected to thermal decomposition, particularly by spray calcination, whereby magnesium oxide is obtained and hydrogen chloride is recovered.
