Abstract: A rectangular holder (1), which has two main walls (2, 3) and three side walls (4, 5, 6) and is open at a fourth side (7), comprises a clamping member (11) of an abrasion-proof elastic plastics, for clamping a cassette in the holder (1), which clamping member comprises an elastically deformable plate portion (12) which carries a clamping projection (13) and is retained by a retaining portion (15) connected to the holder (1).

Abstract: A thermal printer which includes a thermal print head (15) which is displaceable in the line direction and a print bar (6) which extends in the line direction, the print bar being located opposite the print head and being pivotable about an axis parallel to the line direction. A supporting part (19) of the print bar constitutes an abutment for the print head, and is connected by an elongated resilient hinge part (20) to a mounting part (21) of the print bar.

Abstract: A lever arm (14) carrying a set of contacts (16) is pivoted towards the operating position of a chip card by a slide (18) which is slidably guided parallel to the direction of insertion of a chip card into the scanning device. It is in turn displaceable by an individual operating member (17) to be operated by hand.

Abstract: A transport roller for a record carrier in a printer, for example, an ink jet printer, is composed of at least two laterally adjoining, hollow, cylindrical roller sections. Each roller section is connected to its hub by means of at least one carrier portion. The roller sections are adjacently arranged on a shaft by way of the hubs by which they are locked against rotation. At a first lateral end of each roller section a groove opens towards this first end, in which groove there is arranged a toroidal ring. The laterally open groove is closed by the second lateral end of the roller section which adjoins this first lateral end.

Abstract: A printer such as an ink jet printer in which a record carrier is fed around a transport roller and over an elongated flat supporting surface extending alongside the roller, with a printing head displaceable along that surface. To cause the carrier to lie flat under the printing head, the surface lies in a plane which is a secant plane with respect to the roller, the secant defining a roller circular segment having a height less than half the roller radius. Between the head and the roller, a ruler presses the record carrier toward but not against the flat surface at that location, causing the carrier to lie flat under the printing head.

Abstract: An indexing device for a recording and/or playback apparatus for tape recording cassettes arranged in a magazine, for selective recording or playback of portions of a selected cassette. The cassette magazine has at least one compartment for insertion of an index strip section, the section being exposed through a window in a peripheral surface of the magazine. The magazine is so arranged that the strip mark device has the same start position for any selected cassette.

Abstract: A marking device for a recording apparatus with a scriber movable from a rest position along a strip towards either of two marking zones provided on the strip. The scriber is coupled to an actuating lever pivoted in either direction from a rest position by rotation of a crank in a respective selected direction through one full revolution. A lost-motion connecting link establishes lever direction in response to crank rotational direction.
