Abstract: A retaining element is disclosed made from a single piece made of a substantially inelastic material having one end attached to a prosthesis and having the other end, with a thickened part and a shaft, releasably insertable into an artificial recess of the jawbone. The fastening end is equipped with a threaded portion so that the retainer may be screwed into the prosthesis to a greater or lesser extent. The invention further concerns a prosthesis equipped in this manner and drills for the production of the artificial recess.
