  • Patent number: 6734654
Abstract: The method for regulating a generator including three stator windings (U, V, W) and a converter bridge (11) including controllable switch elements (15 to 20) includes temporarily connecting the stator windings (U, V, W) in an otherwise currentless time interval with a charge source (21) that supplies an additional charging current to the stator windings (U, V, W) in addition to induced current present in the stator windings (U, V, W). The additional charging current provides the generator (10) with additional magnetic energy. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the supply of additional charging current to the stator windings is controlled by a logistics element (27) for setting a turn-on time and a longest on-time duration of at least one switch element and a comparator (25) that produces a comparison output according to a comparing of an actual current value with a predetermined maximum value.

Abstract: The method for regulating a generator having three stator windings (U, V, W) and a converter bridge (11) including controllable switch elements (15 to 20) includes temporarily connecting the stator windings (U, V, W) for a predetermined time interval with a charge source (21) that supplies a charging current to the stator windings (U, V, W) in addition to induced current present in the stator windings (U, V, W). The charging current charges an inductance of the generator (10) with magnetic energy. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the supply of charging current to the stator windings is controlled by a device including a logistics element (27) for setting a turn-on time and a longest on-time duration of at least one switch element and a comparator (25) that produces a comparison output according to a comparing of an actual current value with a predetermined maximum value.

  • Patent number: 5175439
Abstract: A novel vehicle power supply system is suggested which receives its voltage supply from a starter/generator which can be used as a generator in normal operation and as a starter when starting, wherein the starter/generator is connected with a 24 volt ring mains as well as with a 24 volt battery via a pulse inverter and a 300 volt DC intermediate circuit and a bidirectional converter. Additional consumers can be supplied with higher voltages than 24 volts and electric control devices can be supplied with voltage, possible via additional converters, from the bidirectional push-pull converter and the 300 volt DC intermediate network. In addition, this vehicle power supply system contains a plug receptacle with a 220 volt 50 Hz voltage.

  • Patent number: 4734600
Abstract: In an apparatus for noise reduction and damping in ventilators of electric machines, in particular vehicular alternators, it is proposed that the ventilator support on the rotor shaft be effected by axially staggering inner rubber inlays on both sides and providing adjoining outer spring pressure elements such that the ventilator region is clamped, at least in the axial direction and preferably radially as well with an additional rubber ring. As a result, the transfer of resonant vibrations of the rotor to the ventilator are reliably avoided, and the noise emissions are decisively reduced.
