  • Patent number: 5842322
Abstract: A closure member for crown cork applicators, which comprises a closure cone and an ejector engaging the longitudinal bore of said closure cone, is provided with an observation opening connecting the bore to the outside thereof, said observation opening having an aperture angle of at least 180.degree. and being dimensioned such that the ejector is located completely within said observation opening. The large observation opening defined in this way permits the best possible access to the particularly critical areas of the closure member for the purpose of examination, cleaning, disinfection or the like.

  • Patent number: 5802812
Abstract: The invention relates to a process, as well as a device which is suited for the same, for the processing of containers, particularly of bottles or the like, into which a fluid is injected for the expulsion of the air from the head room of the bottles after the filling, before the aperture of the container is closed, in a sealing manner, by means of a closure cap. After the injecting of the fluid, a closure cap is first of all moved forward to the opening of the container and held, for a certain period of time, in a position above the opening, in such a manner that the open aperture is covered by the closure cap, but that gas can exit from the container between the opening and the closure cap. After that, the closure cap is attached to the container in a sealing manner.

  • Patent number: 5375394
Abstract: Method for sealing a bottle by deforming a crown cap put on a bottle mouth, in which a holding elmement positions the crown cap on the bottle mouth during a positioning phase. In a sealing phase the crown cap is inserted in a sealing end of the sealer through a conical inlet region, is deformed thereby and fixed on the bottle. After deformation of the crown cap, a rejecting element rejects the crown cap from the sealing end during a rejection phase. To seal the bottle during the sealing phase almost without any head-pressure and in a simple way without breaking the bottle, the holding element holds the crown cap during the positioning and sealing phase basically without any pressure on the bottle mouth and during the following sealing phase the rejecting element is biased for rejecting the crown cap during the rejection phase.

  • Patent number: 5309696
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting closing caps in vessel closing machines. In order to eliminate the risk of caps getting crushed and to increase the operating reliability and efficiency, the apparatus is characterized in that the end portion of the conveying duct is directly followed in the direction of movement of the engaging means by a guide channel for guiding the caps, the guide channel comprising guide elements extending at both sides of the path of the engaging means, and that the transporting device is so formed that prior to the arrival of the associated engaging means it transports the respectively foremost cap from the end portion of the conveying duct at least partly between the guide elements and retains it there, if necessary, until the arrival of the engaging means.

  • Patent number: 5280693
Abstract: A vessel closure apparatus with a stripping magnet for unprocessed crown caps disposed before a cap feeding device relative to the revolving direction of a closure head. The stripping magnet is located below the revolving path of the closure heads and has a greater magnetic attraction for the crown cap than the magnet used to hold the crown cap in the closure head.

  • Patent number: 5235793
Abstract: Invention relates to a closing apparatus for capping vessels having means for permitting a faster and easier connection and disconnection of a wash flushing device. A flushing element cap is provided which is inserted into the opening which is located at the bottom surface of the pressing means where closing caps are secured to the mouth of a vessel. A channel is formed which permits the flushing of the surfaces of the closing tool exposed to the fluids contained in the vessels. Utilizing the flushing cap element results in a compact structure that requires little space, so that cumbersome and time-consuming equipment changes are avoided during a cleaning operation of the closing apparatus.
