  • Patent number: 11179759
Abstract: A system and method for removing flatness faults from a metal flat product, in particular a metal sheet or a strip, having multiple straightening rollers arranged on opposite sides of the flat product. In order to simplify and to enable more cost-efficient removal of flatness faults from a metal flat product, at least two cooperating straightening rollers arranged on opposite sides of the flat product each have at least three individually-adjustable partial rollers arranged axially adjacent to one another.

  • Patent number: 10987713
Abstract: A horizontal roll stand includes upper and lower back-up rolls, removable work rolls, a balancing device for supporting the upper work roll, and a vertical adjustment device for the lower back-up roll. The work rolls are removed and a press device for straightening pressing of a flat metal product is inserted into the roll stand. The press device includes opposing upper and lower press frames that are displaceable relative to each other. The upper press frame and the lower press frame have one of a selectively moveable pressing die or opposing selectively moveable table with a trough for immersion of the pressing die to selectively press and flatten defects in the flat metal product. The upper press frame includes carrier elements which contact a balancing device of and for support within the roll stand. The lower press frame has support elements for being supported on stanchions of the roll stand.

  • Publication number: 20180272403
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for straightening pressing a flat metal product, as well as a roll stand (300) comprising said device (100). Known straightening presses typically comprise an upper press frame having a pressing die and a lower press frame having a table for supporting the flat product to be straightened, wherein the upper press frame is arranged opposite the lower press frame and both press frames can be moved vertically with respect to one another. The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing a device (100) for straightening pressing a flat metal product, a roll stand (300) comprising said device (100) and a method for operating a roll stand (300) of this type, which enable economically efficient straightening of flat products. This problem is solved in relation to the device (100) through the subject matter of claim 1.

  • Publication number: 20120024435
Abstract: A method and device for controlled straightening and cooling of a wide metal strip, especially a steel strip or sheet metal, running out of a hot rolled strip rolling mill, using pinching rollers arranged in the moving direction of the strip behind vertical double rollers, said pinching rollers producing a tensile stress acting in a longitudinal direction. According to the invention, the range of use of conventional sheet metal cooling systems can be extended to obtain a more even surface of said steel strip with an increased cooling effect. This is achieved by displacing the metal strip or sheet metal between a pre-straightening machine and splash cooling facility in defined conditions of tensile stress by adjusting the tensile stress and by cooling said strip or sheet metal inside said splash cooling facility between successive pairs of pinching rollers and by additionally controlling the tensile stress.

  • Publication number: 20100132853
Abstract: A method for the treatment of sheets which are rolled to final dimensions in a roll stand, subsequently undergoing on-line cooling, straightening and heat treatment for homogenization and influencing of microstructure. To improve the heat treatment, the heat treatment is carried out online such that it is decoupled from the preceding cooling and straightening, while taking into account the speed at which the sheet exits from the final workstation upstream, the time at which the heat treatment begins is selected in such a way that the sheet has completely left this final workstation before the sheet is subjected to the heat treatment.

  • Publication number: 20050016643
Abstract: A method and device for controlled straightening and cooling of a wide metal strip, especially a steel strip (1) or sheet metal, running out of a hot rolled strip rolling mill, using pinching rollers (5) arranged in the moving direction of the strip (2) behind vertical double rollers (3,4), said pinching rollers producing a tensile stress (6) acting in a longitudinal direction. According to the invention, the range of use of conventional sheet metal cooling systems can be extended to obtain a more even surface of said steel strip (1) with an increased cooling effect. This is achieved by displacing the metal strip (1) or sheet metal between a pre-straightening machine (7) and splash cooling facility (8) in defined conditions of tensile stress (6) by adjusting the tensile stress (6) and by cooling said strip or sheet metal inside said splash cooling facility (8) between successive pairs (5a) of pinching rollers and by additionally controlling the tensile stress (6).

  • Patent number: 5302569
Abstract: An unreduced catalyst which contains, per 100 parts by weight of CuO, 40 to 130 parts by weight of ZnO, 2 to 50 parts by weight of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and, optionally, 0.5 to 8 parts by weight of an oxide of Mn, Mo, V, Zr and/or an alkaline earth metal, and, also optionally, 2 to 80 parts by weight of a support. The catalyst has a total BET surface area of 80 to 175 m.sup.2 /g, 75% to 95% of the total BET surface area is formed by pores having a radius r.sub.p .ltoreq.15 nm.
