  • Publication number: 20180353041
Abstract: A system consists of an unmanned vehicle that moves independently within an environment, in particular a cleaning robot, and a door located in the environment with a doorframe and a door leaf. The vehicle has a detector for detecting object data within the environment. In order to be able to open a door without the vehicle manually acting on the door, the door has an electronic actuator for changing an open state of the door, and the vehicle has or is allocated a controller, which is set up to output a control command for activating the actuator depending on an operating state and/or position of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180353043
Abstract: A method for operating a floor processing device that moves automatically within an environment, has a detection system of the floor processing device that detects features of a surface to be cleaned and compares them with reference features of carpets. Upon detection of a carpet, it is determined whether and where the carpet has fringes, and the fringes are aligned in a defined direction relative to the carpet by means of a combing attachment of the floor processing device.

  • Publication number: 20180267528
Abstract: In a method for operating a self-traveling floor treatment apparatus, a recording device of the floor treatment apparatus records a recording of an environment of the floor treatment apparatus, which concerns a time period, and the recording is displayed for a user of the floor treatment apparatus on a screen. In order to allow correction of error conditions, the recording is stored and, in case of a defined environmental event and/or apparatus condition of the floor treatment apparatus, a time-defined partial sequence is subsequently extracted from the stored recording and displayed on the screen.

  • Publication number: 20180192837
Abstract: A self-propelled cleaning device has a surface cleaning system for cleaning a surface to be cleaned. In order to also be able to clean an above-floor surface, the cleaning device also has an above-floor cleaning element for mechanically cleaning an above-floor surface offset in terms of height relative to the surface. The above-floor cleaning element can be rotated and/or pivoted around a rotational axis, and at least one partial cleaning area of the above-floor cleaning element has a difference in height of roughly 3 cm or more relative to a lowermost standing surface of the cleaning device by comparison to a usual orientation of the cleaning device for a cleaning operation.

  • Publication number: 20180192834
Abstract: A self-propelled cleaning device has a housing, a fan and a surface cleaning system for cleaning a surface to be cleaned. In order to also be able to clean an above-floor surface, in particular a plateau of a baseboard, the cleaning device also has an above-floor cleaning system for cleaning an above-floor surface vertically offset relative to the surface to be cleaned. The above-floor cleaning system has a flow connection to a suction and/or blower unit having a fan, the flow opening of which has a difference in height of roughly 3 cm or more relative to a standing surface of the cleaning device by comparison to a usual orientation of the cleaning device for a cleaning operation.

  • Patent number: 4057369
Abstract: The present invention relates to magnetic support of the rotor structure in vacuum pumps, particularly turbomolecular pumps. This magnetic support eliminates the requirements for bearing lubricants, and the consequent degradation of the vacuum to be produced by lubricant vapors.

  • Patent number: 3938913
Abstract: A flow machine for pumping and/or measuring the flow of agressive, radioactive, or special-purity flow mediums. The flow machine is provided with a rotatable impeller magnetically supported within a machine casing such that the impeller is spaced at all points from the inside walls of the machine casing. The casing inside walls and the outer configuration of the impeller include a central cylindrical center section joined by conically outwardly flared end sections. Electromagnetics are arranged in the conical flared section outside of the inside wall for cooperation with magnetic material arranged in the corresponding conically flared sections of the impeller to support the impeller in position. The conically flared section facilitate both radial and axial support of the impeller, since both axial and radial components of electromagnetic force is experienced at the conically flared sections of the impeller.
